Hard to tell if this bounce will work out, 24 is on the right side ... just.

I don't use that 15-minute entry I briefly spoke about early in the thread. It was a brief experiment that I discarded. I just use the hourly Cornflower setups in conjunction with the 5-minute, and I do this more or less as I did 2 1/2 years ago. The only thing I don't really use much anymore is the Bollinger bands on the 5-minute, only because it's another thing to look at and I don't really like distractions. If anything, my trading has become simpler. I just look for pullbacks and I watch the character of the price action.

Folks, don't fret over the market. Yes, the market has been challenging over the past year, perhaps more than usual. But the market challenges us year after year anyway. It's going to do what it's going to do. All we need to do is follow the movement of price, and this is what Cornflower does.

Your question points to something I long ago lost interest in, namely predicting what the market is going to do. No one knows. I don't do the longer-term trades often, only because I don't have the personality for it. Also, I have other interests besides trading and I like to pursue them. I simply don't want to have to worry about what that silly Euro is doing every minute of the day.

So. How do I know what it "looks" like it's going to do? From my experience of watching the market. I've been trading forex for several years now (with some long breaks from time to time). Watching price action is an art that takes lots of screen time to hone. I've spent countless hours in the dead of night watching the ways in which price moves, and I've developed a feel for different kinds of market conditions. Unfortunately, I've never been able to systematize this in a way that I can explain here. It's something that each trader has to learn for him or herself. Sometimes this feel leaves me for a time, much in the way athletes find themselves in a slump. I just have to trade my way out of it. But there is no contradiction between having trading rules and having a feel for price action.

Yeah of couse it makes sense, I just think Cornflower i a great tool so people should know about it. I try to post charts that are current because its always easy after the fact to say "see I should have got in here". I also dont want people jumping into a trade because I post a chart.... so I make the post sound like a question .

I can go weeks sometimes without a valid Cornflower entry and I think this gets to people because they want to turn charts on and make money, the only thing I would like to add to what you said is let the market come to you.. when you see a good trade take it and with the hours of screen time Lever is talking about you will learn what those good setups look and feel like.

By the way pips to be had just before midnight GMT on Eur and Eur/Jpy.

This a current EUR/JPY 1h chart, it has made a nice 24 bounce but one thing to think about is how the lower EMA's are pointing back up. It can be hard to get a 24 bounce that does not do this but the good ones run up quick, bounce and turn the other way.

So there are 2 options:
Wait for the candle to close and see if it looks the goods or turn to lower timefame and look for reason to enter off it.

Gotta be careful near NFP, it can change the market picture very quickly. This is why I said a long time ago not to take Cornflower entries the day before NFP. And the prices on the crosses are constructed from literally crossing USD pairs, so don't think they're immune to US news. (In this case, EURJPY = EURUSD * USDJPY.)

Hello

I have been using this a bit in my 5 min trading and I just posted this on a differnt thread because people were asking about exits

1st chart shows a good 24 bounce entry on the Cable.

The 2nd chart is something I have been trying, two 12 EMAs set to high and low when a candle closes across the bottom (or if price is just stuck in the middle) then I close and take the pips (see 2nd circle) also the first circle at the trade entry is to show how long price was stuck in the middle and just moved sideways.. all the same it was a good place to enter.

Might help people who need help staying in a trend.

Hey Ollynick,

Yes this system can be used on any pair, so long as you can find a trend Cornflower can help you trade it. I Myself just stick pretty much to the majors ... good luck and post your trades here in the tread.

Have taken 2 positions using Levers system..on hr charts..EU/UD..L at 1.5034.. and UDCAD..L at 1.0508..in 20 odd hrs on this one up abt 20+..seems to be clear up trend thou..stops on adn off to bed..see wot the morning brings..

Yes it makes an awful lot of sense..I go throu similar stuff my self were i reckon i have got it just rite then i loose it..

Well the CAD worked got 152.. BUT lost 56 on the EU/UD....Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick i spose..actualy got 164 on the CAD so pocketed abt 108..multis off/.. good little earn..
