What I'm trying to say is that I prefer a 4 hour close to coincide with NY close, rather than the times set by my broker as it produces better results.

Daily long still on from 1.47755, with stop loss now at 1.48403

Took 4 hourly long last evening from 1.49192 and was stopped out at 1.49300 for 10.2 pips

Am now short on 4 hourly from 1.49225 with initial stop loss at 1.49716

London open trade will be opened in around 20 mins

OK so London open trade for today is long from 1.49076, s/l 1.48826

Lets see what today brings.....

Well, London open was stopped out for 1% a while back.

However, daily long still hanging on in there & 4 hour short has had s/l moved to 1.49309, risk now down to below 0.5% on that one.

Between them they are up just a smidgeon under 6% so again a pretty good day so far. Will bank profits on the 4 hourly if still in later.

Be back in 4 hours or so - I see TIC report due in 20 mins so that may shake things up further.....

OK, 4 hour short just closed (Friday rule) at 1.48922 for 30.3 pips (1.21%).

Daily long looks like carrying through the weekend - higher lows on the daily continue (just).

It's been a good week overall

OK, daily long that has been held for a week was stopped out during Asia for 69.9 pips (2.8%). Normally if a daily trade lasts for a week we should be closing at over 200 pips but a win is a win. No more daily trades to be taken now until early November as I'm away from Wednesday this week.

A 4 hourly short was triggered during Asia too from 1.48550 but was stopped at 1.48898 for a 34.8 pip loss.

London open trade is short from 1.49199, sl 1.49449. Euro looking strong, not looking promising.

Well what started with a promising 2.8% win, another loss on the 4 hourly has put me slightly down for the day.

The 4 hourly had a good week last week. Unfortunately due to work committments, missed two entries. One was a break even trade, the other a 6% winner. A good week should've been a stellar one.

Anyway, Scott has now made me an EA for the 4 hourly so after testing on a demo and making sure it does what it should, that will be set up to go live upon my return early November.

Hey thanks I really need a break!

So much that I thought OK, I'm not going to trade the London open today as I'm going away.

And, as I knew it would, entry short from 1.4985 area would have produced at least 3% today!

Expect all my methods to perform out of their skin whilst I'm away - when I was away for a week earlier in the year missed a 10% week - so bloody frustrating this business

Had a fantastic family holiday to Kenya (paid for by my parents) & just arrived back this morning.

Once we've got some pics together I'll post some here.

Remember what I said before I left? That's right, my systems would perform out of their skin....

In the 10 trading days I missed, the London open method would have realised a profit of 24.94%.

Gutted.

the market knows u're in holiday, so they move according to your system. i think u shouldn't mention u're back, and trade quietly so u are more profitable eventually

LOL, I'm beginning to think you're right!

Last week even approaching that one was back in early August - I was in Portugal that week tending to family matters.

All I can do is keep on keeping on in the knowledge that these things do work themselves out over time.

Welcome back Steve! Glad you had a good trip. Also just wanted to stop in and thank you. Watching you grow as a trader and person is so inspiring.
