It had to retrace one way or another. I am still bearish with long term targets @ 1.52 1.35 1.19 if we get there. Still building my full postion from the 1.67 with a many 0.5% trades and SL is at average position BE

The most likely reason pound is spiking is due to :-

People are expecting the GBP retails sales out tomorrow to surprise to the upside. So they are short covering . At the same time bad ZEW expectations is resulting in EG sales( weak eur and short covering GBP for tomorrow.) EG sales always spikes up the pound. and thats why u see this spike.

If u observe markets tomorrow, GBP maybe in buy mode starting from an hour before london open till retail sales results but beware of whipsaw at news becoz unemployment claims also same time out in UK.

People have started to position for this news and hence this spike.

there are no gbp retail sales tomorrow (or even this week), only usd retail sales, so that makes no sense for gbp to fly up for that. plus if zew was affecting euro then eurusd would not be flying up.

There was same shop sales out this morning ( not available on FF calender)and it came on much much better than expected and which is felt to reflect well in GBP retail sales.

these are the level of support and resistance from my chart. since resistance@ 142.16 becomes unvalid...the next resistance level should be @ 142.64. If it's penetrates...the next level should be @ 142.16 as the previous double top occurs. If it does't...then we are looking back to 141.30 and continues to 140.99 and after that should be a roller coaster to 139.66 onces again and maybe to 137.00. I've attach a chart for any comments....(hope you guys don't mind me posting the chart...still new to charts analsys).

I hope your correct... However, Malcolm said that if 143.00 is broken then it should continue higher...and 143.00 has been broken... not touching it just yet, because I am unsure about things.

I believe he means it needs to be broken and then tested as support. Just because the 143.00 level has been pierced by 15 or 20 pips dont mean a thing.
