Pharoah, could you put the two MA's in the first post in this thread. I have found them but I had to go through Ace's 4H breakout and your other thread trying to find them. Anyone coming in fresh would not know where to look. And if you need anymore testers I would like to put my hand up.

The MA's are default indicators that come with MT4, for me to include them would be pointless.

The only indicator I think would need to be custom made for this would be to display a box of "Extern" size from the close of the 1st 4H candle instead of the Breakout Box that Ace's system uses, as it's bases on high and low of candle instead of close.

The settings for the MA are still being tested for optimization, and the system is still very much WIP and I recommend against trading live, only trade demo to familiarize yourself with the core technique. I doubt that any changes will be occurring to the core, as the results we've seen don't warrant any core changes.

Definitely allowed, tho could I request 1 other thing? could it have externs allowing editing of MA properties? This would make it so it doesn't need to be redone once we get the optimal settings for everything. Any indi's provided to assist in manually trading this system is 100% allowed, it's automated tools that I am requesting be kept to yourself, and not provided freely to anyone and everyone.

So, the first candle closed. The way I understand it, I now have an order at 142.91 buy and 141.91 sell right? It would be great to manually track the weeks progress. I will help if I can.

Yes, that's correct, sorry I'm not keeping up on the actual realtime weekly trades, I'm very busy with testing and family. Thanks for understanding

OK, our buy order was triggered at 142.91. The red MA is at 142.32, 59 pips away, and moving up very slowly. Because of the shift, we can see where it will be in the next two candles. Is this correct?

Yes, that's right. This helps give us an insight as to where out stoploss is going to be in the future, so we can manage accordingly.

In these market conditions, I'm still determining the optimal box size, Because the last 24 hours has a range of 195, which is too small to warrant a 100 pip box size. If this trade ends in a loss, I would suggest reducing the box size to about 60 pips (30 on either side).

HMMMM....Maybe we'll get reall smart and have a variable box size the changes with the ATR. I should take half off at +100, the way I understand things......

This is something I've been looking into, when the market ranges, and the average daily range is somewhere around 190 pips, it only seems rational to reduce the box size from 100 pips. I'm still trying to figure out the best method to determine box size depending on the previous days average range, as there could be multiple trades a week, we don't want to use the weekly range, as it could be very different.

This is why I believe this EA will at least be able to last the long haul, because it's going to be dynamic, as the market changes, the EA adapts to keep up with the market.

Also, build in an option to not trade on holidays as well. Such as this week.

I've also been thinking about including an internal "avoidance" system to avoid trading on holidays that are part of any given pair, for example, all EUR pairs would not trade on the Euro Holidays, this would be a very complex system as there are many pairs to consider, but overall I think it will be a success once included.

I think so to, but only time will tell, and there is still alot to do before it's ready.

The beauty of the way the system works is that it can work with any financial instrument, will work better on some than others due to spread, and volatility.

Here also my old "BoxBreakout" indi, adapted for the Close at the first H4 bar of the week.

Because nobody used this indi, it is not finished...
If the areas are drawn incorectelly, pleas restart. It coud be that the arrows are not OK...(please ignore).
It coud be that the allerts are not OK...(please ignore).

- The indi can be helpfull to visualize better which values have the box sizes with and without ATR, and the reached ATR levels above and below the boxes.

This indicator will place 2 MA's on the chart that will be displayed according to the externs which control the MA's variables.

So this signal indicator already auto calculated an optimal box size based on ATR??

Possible is also to give as imput a fixed box size.
At begin of the areas is a figure = ATR. Then we can multiply this value with the box size factor, and have our box highs.
I don't know if this values are "optimal", but is easier to visualize if we take in trading a fixed box size of 100 points for EURUSD (ATR=47), this is the same with 100 points for GBPJPY (ATR=73)
2 traders viewing now
