i had a gbpjpy sell in for 4 and a half months. low lots, lots of scares, but a good trade.

Interesting! I have seen people champion both tight SL and NO SLs, and I was curious if we have a record-holder out there

bigger the trade, bigger the SL. long term position or investing style trading add a whole new element to watching the charts. but it's worth it in the end.

Cut losses short and let the good ones run, sounds like a myth but when it comes to investmenst its the only way to profit in the long run. What most traders ask is ' which ones should i let run?'... well that comes with experience and staying power.

I sold an EurNZD option in the first week of April 2008 at 1.9910 and looks like this week - 18 months later - it would be back at the same position.

This was first time I sold a Nzd pair and as a result of huge drawdown followed it closely and realised this currency is under the total control of market makers and the currency can move like tsunami with smaller retracements.

I won't be surprised if EurNZD touches 1.8 this year and 1.5 by June 2010. Many traders who will buy this pair thinking that it's time for reversal will be in for surprises.

As an option seller I am used to see long-drawn out drawdown up to 12 months but never this longer.

Ah, ha - so this is where you are Babyleaps How long have I held onto trades? Now that would be telling. How about 2 years? Do I get the trophy?

i love short time trades but some times market loses volatility and i need to wait long...i have kept over night trades few time specially on friday

A friend of mine has been long on GBPJPY for more than a year, few years ago. He was pretty lucky jumping into a low point and then he started collecting pips plus interest. Thinking about that now seems very easy to do but I suppose it needs guts to do it.

May i suggest a better gauge for a seasoned trader would be to ask about the longest time they've had an OPEN WILDLY SUCCESSFUL trade rather. And a second question would be the same about the losing trade. Kinda like SF (Success Failure) average open time indicator, please.
