Very difficult, if not impossible, to determine by simply eyeballing it.

Triple top and triple buttom, rare for a high TF, I would imagen that it's a 5M hitting DP and S1.

with so many gaps, its bound to be 1 minute. unless it wasnt a forex chart.

I'd guess 1 min.
Becouse many times there is a gap between candle close and next candle open.

its not m1, m1 has these tiny candles, even with high volume
its not h1, h4, as there is no clear weekend gap, also no change in structure every 30 or 120 candles (mo, fr)
for daily or weekly, there is too less direction and too much ranging between S/R
so m5 left

edit: hm, after counting 24 candles, it could be h1 too, there seems to be recurrent action in 24 candle periods

but i guess, one can find arguments for and against every timeframe
we only see what supports our predetermined opinion

Yes exactly. Thanks all for taking a jab at this. There were no right answers. As I said before there is a catch and if you look below you can see what the timeframe is on this chart.

The chart is actually two timeframes pasted together in a random fashion as to look seamless. The most interesting thing is that technically the chart still makes a good bit of sense, can this be explained?
I am sure many of us are relying on historical price levels to assist in future decisions, do we give history too much credit? History is certainly important since not only retail traders are using history, but looking at this chart I would say the present price action and very recent history are the absolutely most important pieces of information one could use to as decision support tools. Moreover, not just any piece of history can be used, imho. History of value is only that which the funds & banks are watching, rather than any inconsequencial high and low some time ago.

Thoughts?

Consolidations and Breaks.

No matter what timeframe, these two will be there, even in chart of a coin toss.

All methods revolve around price consolidations and break of such consolidations. In a coin toss there will be series of heads, series of tails and alternate head/tail occurances. That is why it is almost impossible to tell the timeframe or the pair or the market or in fact if it is a coin toss.

However, some currecies make unique patterns, for example JPY which many times moves very sharply and tends to follow 50% fib retrace.

Chaotic systems like financial markets , weather e.g. are following fractal logic. The main aspect of this logic is called self-similarity. This means that the same patterns occure in higher and in lower timeframes.
