Because the close of the first 4H bar occurred within the lower 1/3 of the box, we would add 1/3 of the box to the low of the box to form the box's new high.

Disregard the MA's, none of them are in actual use, they are only there for my own tweeking research reasons.

All my research findings will be posted and available freely in a manual form in my thread.

Okay.. that's helps a lot.... I guess I'm just more of a visual learner. This is what I had interpreted... I just wanted confirmation.

I'm 100% visual, that's why I can often look at something without actually "looking" at it and deduce the most likely conclusion.

So just to confirm... is this adjusted box variation only for boxes that start the week with 200+ pips?

I think after all is done formulating simple rules in simple and understandable for all language would be another priority
ace's rules are simple and easy to follow...

200-250 pips, your own choice really (as it's not extensively tested) but I wouldn't bother doing this on anything less than a 200 pip box.

The reason is because generally, if it's a 200+ pip bar, where it closes gives us a general idea of what caused the bar to become that large. It's either a heavy movement, news, or holiday, I believe the close of a huge bar helps give us a good indication of what caused the bar to get that big to begin with.

Yonnie . . . there you go again making sense. This has got to stop . . . you're going to confuse everyone.

As you know, we've discussed this before and I agree completely . . . choose a reasonable SL, and a reasonable TP for at least one lot. Then, whatever the second lot does is icing on the cake . . . or salsa on the taco.

That had nothing to do with SL or TP, the talk over the last few hours has been ways to reduce the box size when the box size is massive like it is this week.

Maybe that's what the rest of you were talking about, but Yonnie's point, I think, referred to the box "every week", not just when there's a large box size.
