usdjpy and gbpjpy

usdjpy i had a buy limit at 50% retrace.

jpy/gbp i split my order in 2 and had buy stop on break of pin and also buy limit at 50% retrace.

i have cancelled the usdjpy order and the limit order on jpy.

the jpy hammer could have been better with a higher close however it pierces a major weekly support AND resistance level.

cool charts stoiter. Was reading a few responses to your charts in j16 thread. i dont think nial cares about weather or not a pin closes inside the previous bar. Will b interesting to see how those trades go.
do you just measure your target by 2 - 1 risk reward instead of bar highs and lows or ppz ?
and do you think ny close charts make a difference? ie fxlite?

i have been experimenting with targets/ RR. the gbpjpy trade i am aiming for a resistance area at 149.00 other times i dont have a target and just move my stop behind manually. Other times ive closed out partial positions as price moves in my favour.

i havent really found what suits me best yet.


NY close suits me because it closes at 7am. I leave for work at roughly 715 so i just have enough time to plan and execute a trade.

when daylight savings kicks in some time in the next few weeks i dont know what im going to do yet the close will become 8am so i wont be able to make any trades based on the close.

My choices are to trade when i get home ie half way through the bar. Or change to a feed that closes an hour before NY close.

also ive added you on msn by the way

cool man, yeah im still playing around abit to, like to keep it as simple as i can. NY close would be handy if u have to leave for work at 7. Im about to leave work lol
hmm interesting concept the close times. ill think about that to see if there are more options.

the gbpjpy trade was stopped out close to break even for a 0.3% account loss

so september finished with 1 trade at -0.3%

next month wont be much different as im off overseas again in a week.

so it seems with daylight savings i cant find a daily candle that closes before i go to work.

If anyone knows a feed that closes 1 hour before NY close let me know.. Ive tried about 10 brokers and they all close on NY or after.

I might have to just trade an hour from close based on what i see

Trading based on data that hasn't quite closed might not be a good idea, I've seen big moves just before the candle close on Daily

hey, I know for example go markets have an indicator or something that can change your platforms time. Go's platform is currently at +2 GMT. One option could be for you to find out what NY close time is in gmt and then give go a call and ask them if they could help you set your platform to whatever time you wish.

ideally i want to trade after NY close, but until daylight savings finishes or i quit my job thats not going to happen.

about the indicator, i talked to them months ago about this issue and they said something like search for some indicator which we dont support.

so interest rates here in aus raised 25 points.. cant believe half the world is still in recession and we are raising rates.

feed closing 1hr prior NY close?
FXPro closes at 5pm NY (NY close)
have u checked XTB traders (FXPro MT4 time -1) or GTL (FXPro time + 1)?

hey i was just thinking of something...
u can get the dynamic candle indicator that is all over the net.
but all it is, is u can change the candles to whatever hour you want.
so if you want to make a trading decision an hour before you go to work you could set the indicator to 23 hours or something so it closes that extra hour earlier. you should play around with it. its cool
I was playing around with typing in 23 hours as the timeframe on the hour to see if i could get the right timing for you but the candles are way to big. lol sorry man i thought it would work

after about 8 hours of searching for a mt4 GMT+4 broker im ready to give up..

ill have to look into making trades 8 hours after the candles closes, when i get home from work.

the best i have came up with so far is you can get the dynamic candle indy and make your charts into 20hour charts rather than 24. you just go to 4 hour chart and type in 5 under timeframe. At least u can make a trading decision maybe 2 hours after the candle has opened which is better than trading before candle close.
the candles look abit different so it may effect your trading seems your seeing other patterns that no one else sees. Im not to sure but you could play around with that and see.

knowing that the UAE is in the gmt+4 zone i was searching for aue brokers and i think i even found my way to that brokers website but got frustrated and gave up.




on a side note that dynamic candle thingy is very interesting indeed.

every hour you essentially have a new daily candle form. i wonder what the signals generated from that would be like
