You have to have the 4D on a 5D account your screen is all wrong. Here is what it should look like for Thurs and Fri. It should only have taken Level 1 trades possibly 1 level 2 trade in the last two days. This is the gbp/usd on a 5M chart which looks like what you are showing. Having a 4D on a 5D account means you are entering every 9 pips and taking profit every 6. So you would get these kind of wild results doing that.

Your gbp/jpy screen should look like this. You have the wrong EAs and templates with the broker you are using.

Ok I will break down currencies according to volatility.

Slow or low volatility:
The chances of moving over 300 pips in one day is less than 1%
aud/nzd, aud/cad, chf/jpy, nzd/usd, eur/chf, eur/gbp.

medium volatility
The chances of moving more than 300 pips is greater than 1% but less than 3%:
aud/usd, eur/cad, eur/usd, usd/cad, usd/jpy, usd/chf,

above medium volatility greater than 3%
aud/jpy, eur/jpy, eur/aud, gbp/usd, nzd/jpy

Very high greater than 5%
aud/chf, gbp/jpy, gbp/chf, gbp/cad, eur/nzd, gbp/nzd

Dont bother to trade with my system EAs:
gbp/nzd, gbp/cad,
nzd/jpy, nzd/usd, nzd/chf, usd/cad The NZD has a tendency to get squashed at times by the bigger currencies. Same thing with the USD/CAD.

These pairs you can trade but dont use all of them:
gbp/chf, gbp/jpy, aud/chf, eur/nzd.
Of these 4 the gbp/chf has given me the most trouble aud/chf the least.

So I will trade all from the first 3 groups but not the 2 NZD pairs = 15 and add the aud/chf gbp/jpy, gbp/chf, eur/nzd. I am going to drop the gbp/chf because of the three GPB: gbp/usd, gbp/jpy, gbp/chf it has the biggest chance of not retracing plus when the gbp gets into trouble all three will get into trouble so then I only have to deal with 2. The gbp/usd and gbp/jpy will retrace bigger and faster than the gbp/chf pair will. So that will give me 18 pairs I will trade. The other pair I am thinking of dropping is the eur/gbp because it is too slow and eats up more margin than any other currency pair of this group. So I am beginning to settle into 17 trading pairs. I may look into keeping the NZD/JPY however.

Thanks Bob. Looks like I got it all messed up.

However, I did amend the EAs, add '0' to the numbers except for the
item label 'Pips=' which remains at 90. 'Take Profit' and 'StopLoss' were
added with '0'; and the lots change to '0.1' instead of '0.01' as I think
my demo with FXPRO is a mini account. Trade wont trigger if set '0.01' lot. Does it matter with the template used if I already amend the 4D EAs instead of using the 5D EAs?

It contains results from a system I started at the end of march, spookily it is alomost idenical to Bob's system, I believe his entry is better though.

In my opinion, I would trade 0.01 lot per 1000 of balance on your account with around 5 pairs, from my experience 3 levels is just right, 4 is too large a loss when it goes wrong and 2 just about broke even for me.

Having just discovered this thread, I am reading it from start to finish. Its very funny for me to read, as I have found the same results as you lot have. I wish I had discovered this thread a while ago as I'm sure I've duplicated everyones work.

One thing I did find though, which is contrary to what this thread goes against is.....I don't close on a Friday, and here's why

Up until_____________________________^ here, I was closing out all my trades on a Friday, as you can see it has been more profitable since I let them run at the weekend.

Initially I thought, more pairs = more profit, I soon found out that when USDJPY was in drawdown, so were GBPJPY, NZDJPY, AUDJPY, EURJPY etc, your risk is amplified by 5 if you have 5 yen pairs(Again this has been covered in the thread).

Optimal pairs are what is need, then fine tuning these pairs, and uncorrelated as far as you can.
I ended up with USDCHF USDJPY AUDUSD only.
Possibly not the best, but with the size of the account I have not been ready to add more.

Right, back to catching up on the thread, I'll post my findings later, a lot of what I think has been said by others already.

If you add a zero to the EA you have to add 0 to the lines also in the template. The MA line does not need to add a zero. It was your lines that made me think you had the wrong EA.

This is something I always do, brokers are not to be trusted, I read in the Alpari small print if you have a complaint against them, they check the data from a 2nd reliable source, it is from their demo server so you can throw it back at them.
Although I have to say Aplari UK do seem as honest "using the term lightly for a broker" as you can get.

I just use the well known 10p3 EA, I'm sure a lot of this EA came from Alejandro's code on there. Is that right Bob?

Then i just set the same parameters as Bob is preaching, 60 90 500 3.

Welcome to the Monday morning gaps. Havent seen them in a while but they are back. Hopefully you have enough margin to cover them this morning otherwise it is wipeout time.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I'm still catching up on the thread and I feel strongly about this point.

I wish we didnt have the social system in England, it encourages lazyness and the kind of immigration you don't need.
We should cut social money by 10% every year and reduce minimum wage by 10% every year. Then we will see who is lazy when thier bellies are empty.
I travel to the far east regularly and I much prefer the non social government model.

As far as news that takes you outside the range of my EAs I dont see any but the most exciting every month is the nonfarm payroll on Friday. You dont want to be deep in the hole for that one.
