Recent reports indicate that the Missing Thread Creator, Ace284, disappeared around the time Mr. Shiko left Canada. It has been reported that Mr. Shiko corresponded very frequently with the Subject, often sending rambling, incomprehensible notes to the Subject at all hours of the day and night.

Mr. Shiko is now known to be traveling internationally. While not a suspect at this time, Mr. Shiko is a person of interest in this case.

If you have been contacted by Mr. Shiko or know his whereabouts, please report any information to 4H Box Breakout immediately.

Ok, I will start,

if Ace have a huge R/R with his new system following the "weekly breakout", it could be either because he takes the 2 first hours rather than the 4 first hour or the 2 last hours, or even the last hour, which will give him a tight stop loss so biggest R/R.

And/or building his positions by taking severals positions for a big move which will considerably increase the R/R for such move like friday.

Just my opinion, please feel free to comment.

There is no new sytem released by ACE yet.

If it is based on the original system, with all menbers who follow the thread it won't be that difficult to found out "his" new system, of course we will win a lot of time if Ace appears to reveal it, but if not... ?

He had announced that he has devised a new system that is more profitable than the original system, he stated he would not be releasing it just yet, because of all the "copy and paste" system EA sellers flooding the market with freely available systems. I know you haven`t posted a lot, but thank you for your contribution so far; even with these few posts you have done more than most of the posters here.

and no, you dont need a EA to backtest this simple strategy and I wouldn`t trust it anyway.
the period 29 March to 21 September is only 26 weeks and you are better off to do the backtesting manually like I do.
it might even open your eyes to other things which wont be revealed with an EA.

one of your interesting ideas is putting on another trade if up +100 pips.
you got to realize that winning trades are 40% or less, so in 60% of the trades, these second positions will end up in a loss, unless you get them to BE before the price reversal.
I hate to see the results of these riskier second positions in a ranging period!
but backtesting will give you a clue as to the validity of your idea.

wow the backtesting results are really impressive, i am trying the weekly ATR with the box breakout system (thx Ace) and seeing the relation between the two.... using some price action and major S&R levels to confirm a trade.... gonna start this week! will let u know how i go.

are you referring to the numbers mentioned in this thread or did you do your own backtesting?

For people who like to use the weekly average true range:

7-WTR = 494 pips (GBP/JPY moved on average 494 pips per week over 7 weeks)

set your stop loss for next week, say between 50-70 pips. if up by 50 pips, move stop loss to 20 pips and when it is up 0.2 WTR = 99 pips, move to BE.

for your profit target, if you go for 80% of WTR, your TP will be 80% of 494 pips = 395 pips
85% = 420 pips 90% = 445 pips

I am refering to the numbers osted on this thread primarily and confirming them by eyeballing the charts........

Just working out a couple things with the wkly atr.... primarily using it as tp marks etc and also s&r levels.... but will play with it and see how it goes...... I primarily trade of PA and S+R so will have to adapt this system to my pedantic ways :-)

i know that schools are of fri the 25th also this monday and some other business also

can anyone confirm this because on the last two bank holidays the method has lost

There are just under 40 minutes to go before the 4H box is completed. This is one large box already 139.71 to 143.13 plus buffers and spreads.

Looks like 350 pips already. I find myself in two minds whether to trade this setup this week or not?

How are you guys looking at this?

@tarquin1 - to answer your question, it is not a bank holiday in the UK
Just for today, do not worry...
If you use WTR then the 7-WTR is 494 pips.

When you enter after a move of 350 pips, then there`s not a hell of a lot left if this week indeed moves 494 pips.

But who knows, this week might be a BIG FAT move.
