Syahmi just posted one of the latest versions. I attach here even a newer one that was made by xecret special for me as I could not make the 1.0 version work with my Vista.
I had different versions in post 1 earlier but then I decided not to confuse new people and kept only one that is used by Glen who is the Professor in this laboratory

Thanks Idrek.

I am doing some testing over the weekend on a bounce strategy that seem to be working well. Tighter stop and bigger profits with your

2nd indi settings :15 , 50, 3, 5000

I think, if you use a template then the indicators already have needed settings. You can then change them if you like and see what happens.
First number is TF and there is no difference if you set the 1st one to 0 or 5, both go for M5 if put to M5 chart.
Second number is height in the window, which is up to you.
Third is Trix period and it has to be 3.
Fourth, the big number shows how many bars have been counted. Also up to you. I use 500. As I never backtest, I do not want to waste my CPU on history.

EJ survived the chop for +20 (60,15,5 - note 15 was rolling)

GU took 1/2 off below R1 +21 unfortunatley moved SL too tight on 2nd half before big run up +12 (Day,4hr,60,30,15,5 you name it)

Going to look at the management EAs as my intratrade management is not hot and also had I not been babysitting EJ I could have gone back in on GU.

Do you maybe have an old version of MT4? Is it at least 224?

Hi Ayseaf
Gleneagles posted an official template a few pages back. Check out the mtf.tmp in the paperclip. My background is just dark grey.

Hello everybody,
This thread is for discussing a multi-timeframe trading system that is based on one indicator - Trix - with higher timeframes confirmation.

Principle:
Entries taken from M5 chart when higher timeframes confirm the signal.
Timeframe combinations used:
H4, (H1), M15, M5
H1, M15, M5
M30, M5
Basic explanation:

Attached is the only mandatory indicator. All other indicators are optional.

I added another indicator (Sm Super Trix v 1) to the first page that must be in indicators' folder to make the Trix MTF Meter appear on the chart. You do not have the Super Trix on the chart, just keep it in the folder.
The basic explanation how to attach Roy's MTF indicator was in post 1168. It was posted by Roy when he made his first version but it appeals to this one (05) as well.

Hi Dutchsignals

You will notice a paperclip at the top right of this thread (and all threads), that is where indicators are that have been posted in this thread

For Trix I used TRIX MTF Meter royshowing confirmed signals (attached again for your benefit, but remember the paperclip is where everything is

I also use Fib pivots, xADR, and a round number indicator

I was wondering if anyone else has spent any time comparing the results using Roy's meter vs. Xecret's. I am posting a chart showing both (Xecret's is on the top). In one case, Xecret's meter is showing a long signal while Roy's is showing a short. They both seem very good; I was just wondering about the advantages or disadvantages of each.

I am going to compare a little more this weekend.

All of Roys signals are one bar later than Xecrets.

Please read all posts.
Roy's meter shows CONFIRMED SIGNAL, that means the meter changes colour after the bar closes for the nominated time frame.
Xecret's meter shows what the trix is actually doing and confirmed signals.

I understand the difference between them. My question is whether one resulted in more good trades than the other.

Xecret's will get you in earlier, which could have some advantages but also result in more false signals. However, the higher TF confirmations might be enough of a "filter".

I was just wondering if anyone had tried using both and had any feedback yet.

Your approach is not correct at all. No matter which indicator you use, you ALWAYS enter at the same place because the signal candle (the candle that confirms the signal) is ALWAYS THE SAME. You just read the indicators differently.

If you really want to spend your free time on comparing the indicators then attach Sm Scalper Signals to your chart. Then you see the arrows that appear under/above signal candle's. After that it is for you to decide which indicator is visually clearer for you.
