If you are 4L deep you may want to use the 2.4.2 recovery system so as to limit your loss. This way you dont blow the account if there is a repeat today. There is no such thing as a system that never loses. So when we get a bad trade we try to limit the loss.

ibfx is changing a protocol on server side. that way you have to download demo once every other month. (it would help to weed out the guys that demo ibfx and trade with somebody else.

I think I have solved my trade account mystery. The account I had trouble with is also an account I have used to teach a friend how to trade. He had not touched it in in almost 3 months and I had not heard from him in two months, so I slapped the 40MA BB at a couple of pennies to see how it would do live. Well he decided to trade and when he opened up the account and saw all these trades he began trading and well .................. So that solves that mystery. So it was not an EA problem, it was not an IBFX problem it was two people trading the same account problem. Problem is now solved, I hope.

to late margin out and closed some of them me self.
so this is the key : don't over leverage and over risk
how do u trade 23 pairs? i had 8 pairs? so from 400%up to 50% oh well.

With IBFX I trade pennies .02-05. I stay out of trouble that way most of the time. So while some may trend like crazy for a while others are taking some profits along the way. I trade so I can go 1000 pips in the hole but I have never gone that far. My profits are by percentage of the account I am doing. I try for 20% a month, 5% a week, which investment wise is a phenomenal return. If you are going for more than that you will eventually run into margin trouble. So if I have a 500 dollar account, 80-120 bucks a month is about normal. If I try for more than that, sooner or later I will run into serious trouble. The last 10 days of August were a wash, in fact I lost some money during that time. The first week of Sept. was decent and now I am sitting on some interesting trades but nothing seriously effecting my account. I still have less than 15% of my account committed so I have plenty of room to maneuver. That is really the key being able to maneuver when difficult trades come. I managed to wiggle out of the Eur/Aud trade which I am talking about in the 4H system section. I will write about it in the morning there. Think small, grow slow, give yourself some room to trade. Think like a long term investor. If you have a 1000 dollars and can grow it about 100 dollars a month you double your money in a years time. That is not a bad investment. If you have 10,000 ......... well you can do the math.

well my Demo crashes monthly. i talked to a guy at ibfx about it and i use the free to all Demos but those have a time line.

Hi Bob,
I finally got my EA's going in the experts file and put up the 12 pairs you said that newbies should start with. And I put the 3 level EA's on all charts. On Monday it did over 180 trades and lost about $800 in a demo. I have the lots at .09 and also lost about $700 on Tuesday til now (Wednesday at 6 pm CST). Just wondering does it suppose to make that many trades per day??? It is just taking a beating is a few pairs. Thanks.

Every once in a while I have people ask me about the 2.4.2 recovery system. In my Nanningbob 4H trading system thread I just finished showing a live trade over several days that eventually became a recovery trade. I never went to the 4th level but if you want to follow my logic and what I did go here:

You can see my reasoning and logic in real time not a pic the next day saying this is what you should have done when it is easy to see the entire day on the screen. This was a decision made in real time and I may have done better, I may have not. But it is my decision in real time. I hope that helps.

You must have the 4Digit ea with a 5Digit demo system. Get the 5D one on the demo. I dont know which broker you are using but IBFX uses 4D live and 5D for demos. You will get those type of results if you mix up the wrong EAs

Just some added thoughts to post#2545. You really have to discipline yourself into thinking that forex trading is like investing not an income. I give my money to a bank and get 2-4%, other companies like insurance or investment firms 3-7%, there are bonds, treasury bills, etc. The stock market maybe 7-20% a year. My IRA doubles about every 5-7 years except this last year and then loses it all in 3 months. If you conservitively trade the Forex you can easily do better than other investments. The problem is we are drilled with all the hype, "trade the eur easily, double your money every month, make a 1,000,000 in 24 months, etc." It is a war out there. Subconsciously we accept their arguement that we can make an income off of the Forex. I have come to the conclusion that I should treat it more like a long term investment. Grow slowly and keep my account out of trouble. YOU WILL NOT BECOME A SUCCESS until you accept that some trades are just going to lose. The day you can accept that 5% or 10% loss instead of praying and hoping it will turn around AND accept a small percentage gain every week or month, you can become successful. Just some thoughts. In other words, your not going to make an income on 1000 or 2000 dollars, to do that you will need 10,000 or 100,000. So tone down your expectations. Like I wrote last year, if I can make enough money to pay for my plane tickets to go home from China, I would be very happy. Maybe some day I will be good enough to trade 25,000 dollars and make a modest living off of this but I am willing to wait to get that good. Worked too hard all my life to give my money up to a broker. Oh yes, I do think I am getting close to that point.

I re-read the instructions and yes the Demo in IBFX is a 5 digit. Your instructions say to adjust the EA for the 5 digit. Is there a post on what to adjust or could you advise me. I would like to see what has been happening this week. Thanks.

some of you are using my version of the EA and I'm glad your doing well. but to all of you I'm not a programmer so these things take me a while to build because i'm still learning to program. but i have a game builder that checks my code.
that little trick that lets the EA self adjust is part of an EA i'm building i just figured that i could put it in this EA easy enough. Gator be watching i am working on a really cool trick soon.

Now you have got me excited about your new idea. I really appreciate your work on this. I wish I new code and could help. Might be good to ad a option not to trade anything new on Friday and Sunday.....

Ok there are three versions I have posted the 60x90, 180x100 and 4H 40MA BB which one do you want? I am going to try to have all these in one folder with instructions so we can end some of this confusion.

heres what i have

i'm building a second EA that monitors the open trades
it allows pairs currently being trades to continue. but you can set how many pairs that you have trading , say you dont trust the JPY but dont mind AUD. well if you set JPY to 2 then the first 2 pairs that trigger a trade will be the only pairs trading but if you love aud then you can set them for 3 or 4 or what ever. also i'm going to set it up so if you dont want to trade news around usd you can set it to 0 and all the EAs will finish up with the JPY and not open a first position untill its at least 1.

its for divergences if somebody says something in the Japan that affects us i DONT want to miss the opportunity. but i DONT want ALL the JPY pairs taking off at the same time,
but i might want a cupple of trades

dont think ill have this tomorrow i'm a very slow coder

also my comp is restarting every night and i cant get it to stop. i has to do with a file my comp accesses when its slowing down. i think its my GFX cards its basicly crashing. thats what i get for letting a friend use it for gaming.

USDCHF bought and sold 35 times within few minutes. I am not able to make out why this is happening. Though penny account it can vanish within no time.
It has to do with IBFX method of handling latest hedging rules? If there was an error with the EA, it could open many orders but how orders were closed instantly?

Call them and find out? Seems very strange just one currency pair doing that. A program is a program, it is working on the others why not this one. Wonder if IBFX is getting crashed in on by cyber attacks? Can we disguise our EAs so they dont know its an EA??
