Sorry I struck a nerve with the OzFx reference. My point was that the increased popularity of this system (spreading to other forums) will eventually subside. The life of this thread will depend on "real traders" that are not in the quest for the "Holy Grail" and trade this system on its merits - low maintenance and steady returns. The "get rich quick" group will go elsewhere.

No, I'm on board completely with what you said . . . that's just human nature to look for the quick win or go elsewhere.

Well,

1. Kissed mom.
2. Gave her laptop, which is obvious

We should stop worrying about those who sell the system. Majority will not stick with this system.
It has lower win rate to lose rate and majority looking for get rich schemes. They will use more leverage than it is wise to use and will ruin their accounts.
Remember that turtles' system was very profitable, but the most important part of every system is trader. It would be better if we stick with improving this system process and forget about the rest.
it is marathon, not sprint.
tomorrow off to the hotel and will not bother Ace for another week or two and then will appear occasionally before October.
i have really worked very hard on my trading for the last 10 months. i am actually only 11 months old in forex...
it is interesting to hear from ace and i am having some ideas too.
my advise to stick with 1 losing trade per week and no more.
have a great next weekend everyone

That's right . . . trust the signals and send me $99 a month.

I vaguelly remember when Oz had his forum. It was going strong. Then when he said the signals would be subscription-based he had some takers. Then I heard even that died.

The pattern I've seen is that people get really excited about a system. Then the system has a few losing weeks and many of those people leave. They seem to assume that a system will work 100% of the time.

Right now the GJ is ranging between our TP points. Consolidation is normal and this system doesn't win in ranging markets. My plan is to continue to trade the system with reduced lots and a reduced SL of 50 -60%. When we return to a more trending market I'll increase my lot size.

Still not sure about taking the second trade

Sandy

This is my first post on FF all though I have been lurking in the background for a long time. I want to say thanks to Ace and the rest of you guys for the work on this great system.

I Have traded the system for 4 weeks and will not let the last couple of weeks keep me from sticking with this great system.

Ace I will support you with any decision you make in reguards to the future of this thread and system changes.

The market this week is like watching paint dry. DOW is up today, however, currencies are reluctant to follow. Hopefully a sign that these tight ranges are going to finally break.

m'ning Sirs !

" Coming back today, still in short, my two fighters , G and Y, on the ring !

Y is in late for the moment about 34 p, and I think they are together so tired in this third day that in a moment, one of them are going to capitulate .

Without favoritism, I think that my nippon guy , "Y", who I support in this wonderfull fight, will win with an Ipon !

Everibody in the world is curious about these new Ace284 fight rules, just that we are able to say at the moment is that they give us good fights and that we have to let them grows and become an adult, before that, still a long education way..

Shiko: 1. "Kissed mom."

This part's good, Shiko! I'm big on family.

Shiko: 2. "Gave her laptop, which is obvious"

This part's not so good, Shiko, because you're using it instead of her.

Shiko: "tomorrow off to the hotel and will not bother Ace for another week or two and then will appear occasionally before October."

Have a great time, Shiko, but why in the world are you only concerned about bothering Ace? How about the rest of us . . . doesn't bothering us count at all?

Just kidding, shiko, have a great vacation with your family. Somehow, some way, we're carrying on without you.

The current range this week will help to shake a lot of the "get rich quick" crowd out of Ace's tree. Whilst we all sit patiently waiting for the "Beast" to make it's move.

For demo testing purposes, I have taken every breakout this week using a 30% of box SL. So far I have been stopped out on all three trades and am down a total of 4.4% for the week. The tight stops have kept me in the game so I can live to trade another day.

I, too, have been very pleased that the losses were limited by the 30% SL. What I'm really anxious to see is how it performs when we begin to see some true breakouts again.

The back testing looked very promising indeed, but at times it's hard to see a retracement within the 4-hour candle that opens the trade. In other words, without breaking the charts down to 15 or 30 minute time frames, it's hard to see if one might have been stopped out on that first candle before the trade really gets going.

I'm an advocate of a reduced SL, so I hope that's not the case, but we'll need some more favorable conditions to find out.

You definitely have a point Yen. It is hard to ascertain whether or not the SL would have been taken out based on a 4 Hour candle. If I had used a full 100% SL on the first breakout to the downside, then I would still be in the trade with a draw down. "What If" scenario's aside, this will definitely be a forward testing exercise.

Hi Sir Ronald, Good to see you are working on another Droland version ea update.
I have been having a play at tweeking your post 991 Droland ea.
Have put in the Sell area fix, took me ages to do my cutnpaste stuff.

Ace, I think the FF is the best environment to use for developing systems. If you want to keep a few undesirables out, is it possible to put a 1 vouch limit on who can read the thread. Thatway everybody would at least have to be FF members & not just guests. Then also I think Twee can see where they are from.

Love the thread, even with that burro crap on the floor.

Very good, my friend.

I hate to be the one to share this with you, but I don't think the burros are to blame. What you saw is the reaction from traders who just started trading the system.

Hang on, guys and gals, as the old song says . . . "A Change is Gonna Come" (and hopefully soon).

Absolutely. Remember the forex market is a liquid market. It has to move. Eventually. And when it consolidates like this it moves, big. Question is how to identify period of consolidation and stay out of the market. Hindsight is always very clear.
