When the lights turn on, the rats hide in the boxcars. Some got blown up with Nitro. There's at least one still peeking out, pretending he's really a monkey typing "asdf" on the keyboard.

Yea thanks, Permit me to add that to improve your trading you need to observe currencies in what I call the 'trinity' for example EU, GU and EG or if it is the yen pairs uj,ej and gj. Please also take note that the yen pairs do not move substantially unless UJ is volatile. So watch EG when trying to trade EU or GU and Watch UJ when trading the yen crosses. I will advice that CAD JPY should be traded instead of the beast GJ or his younger brother EJ, cad jpy moves quite smoothly. Trading GJ any lower than the hourly charts is not adviceable. Once again I use this opportunity to thank Indrek and Glen for showing traders the consistent way to be successful in Forex - MTF

Fractals are Standard Indicators on Metatrader.

You will find them at:

Insert > Indicators > Bill Williams > Fractals

Hi Gleneagles!

I have noticed that by far, you post more GBPUSD charts than any others, although you do post GJ, AJ and EJ.

Is it safe to assume that GU is your favorite?

Also, I take it that it is not just my eyes deceiving me that in the UK session, GU can generally be counted on for at least 1.5 - 2 'home run' trends on most occasions, and during the US session it can take the markets a while to trend again, as the Poms battle with the Yanks in the sandpit... Has this been your observation as well?

Also, you mentioned last week that you were going to play with some other pairs as well... Any feedback yet?

xecret: Wonderful MTF Trix v0.62 when all functions work... ThANKS SO MUCH... So much flexibility to accomadate all trader's wishes and trading styles.
For those who may find the arrows?squares too small...there is an input in the indicator to make them larger.

Labels work sometimes and some Tf ... not consistent as yet.

For those who PMed me:
I had mentioned that I was playing around with the arrow indicator on the charts. I have attached both for traders to test and use according to their comfort zones.

 

  1. The sm C4 scalper Signalv1 by swingman has 1 x MA as a filter. Thick arrow)
  2. The Dxtrade C4 v3.2 has 2x MA facility which can be used as a filter.(Hollow arrow).

Each trader will debate the benefits of more filters vs redundancy of such filters.... I suggest try it yourself and make your own decision.

 

  1. The Sm Trix version has 2x horizontal lines. The resaon for this is when the histogram bars breakout of these horizontal bars... the PA is more volitile and a better trade to take.... This helps the trader to decide when the market is ranging or trending....

Gleneagles: Thanks again for your trading support and posts. Last evening(Perth time) I was watching GBPUSD around 1.6200ish support too. I saw bullish divergence(trix histogram) on the M5 chart.Even though my trading time is limited..... I enjoy your hints etc.

Many thanks Indrek for your charts and trades... Some trades I observed were taken More closer to M5 signals ,some still not sure of the criteria for entry on the M5 charts.... Not so clear cut to me as yet... I call it 'trader's discretion'.

As promised, yesterday I used and tested two different MTF indicators in parallel - the last version of Trix MTF Meter 05 (the upper one on the picture) and the older version of MTF Trix Meter. (Did not touch the new MTF Trix Meter as it is visually too complicated for me.)
My conclusion so far is that I like MTF Trix Meter better. And there is only one argument for this: I can clearly see how many higher TF periods have been blue/red, where one period started and another ended.
The advantage of 05 version could be that it has arrows. But I already found out that I never look at them.
It is just my opinion and I am sure that both indicators have their fans and both are equally good for trading.

Question for the coders: why do I have to reload my templates any time I open my terminal to make the MTF indicators work?

I do indeed favor GBPUSD and always look for trades on this pair first before I move to the other pairs. You are right about your observation, LDN session is for me the best time to trade the pair.

I normally trade 4 pairs including some of the Yen crosses but decided to skip them for 2-3 days after the election results.
