Where do you get the charts/news/ index for shanghai.. oil.. djia.. etc etc. ? U bought software?
News is kinda harder to describe. I troll around many different sites very regularly as well as a few blogs which often have regular updates with interesting links to new articles.
software LOL. I'm too cheap and smalltimer for subscription software. The only paid-for thing i have (and that is paid for by my employment
) is an IRESS feed which is essentially a java based australian whitelabelled reuters price feed. I use this predominantly during work hours when i don't have access to my MT4 charts. It has nice data on US treasury yields.

charts for indicies, crude futures, index futures can be found quite easily from one of several MT4 demo platforms. They are free to download and use. BrocoTrader has all of these features.

I've been looking for charts for all these. I've been using MT4 for almost a year and I never realized it.

Hi cscheat, the system is called Ichimoku, there is a thread here in "Trading Systems" area as well as lots and lots of info for it on google. From next Monday I will trade only Ichimoku signals on all TF using GBPJPY, EURJPY and USDJPY.

I run my total tally for the week guys, +251.7, very happy.
Monday: 5 trades +34.7
Tuesday: 9 trades +42.3
Wednesday: 10 trades +87.1
Thursday: 12 trades +37.6
Friday (Tokyo only): 5 trades +50 exactly.
Lessons learnt for the week?
* Always wait for retest and monitor PA at retest zone.
* Keep trades less than 5 a day for +50 target (thanks malcom I make it a rule from Monday )
* Do not let scalps turn into trades, if you see price stopping to reverse on a in-proft scalp then exit!
* When spread for G/J go <4 then shit is about to hit the fan
Now since I am free from trading London to meet pips quota I will be going and having fun at a BBQ! Friday afternoon here already so weekend begin soon Please trade safe and keep those stops tight! Wish for green pips to all

Don't start with Ichimoku yet. I know a couple of traders who are very good at it, but it takes a long time to master.
First learn the basics.
Ichimoku is very subtle so different traders make different decisions based off of what they see. You need to put the hard work in on understanding candlesticks, chart patterns, support and resistance, trendlines, etc. before you start trying to learn complicated systems. (or simple ones that don't work)
A common mistake people make when they're learning is to jump from one system to the next looking for an easy way to trade without learning how to read a chart properly first. If you build from the bottom up you'll have a solid foundation.
A good start would be to read these 3 books.
Pring - Psychology of Investing
Nison - Candlestick Patterns
Bulkowski - Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns
They will give you the necessary basics.
