HI parky87:

I understand, thanks.

Some forex traders forget or do not understand that currency is being EXCHANGED when you make a trade....

Hi FrankenPip,
I support your idea about currency pairs relations and wonder if that indi showing in the right top corner of your chart is available for download? If so, could you provide a link?
Thanks.

I am looking for a (BUY and SELL) SL and TP script for use with C4. Stop loss set at 30 and TP set to 15 to accomodate spread.. Or better if i can set the inputs myself. Mx fingers arent fast enough yet
Ignored
I have scripts which would accelerate your fingers. They are available at the same place as Renkos, and they are called 'Instant Orders'. You will be able to preset SL, TP, size, comment and magic number and later fire buy or sell with a single hot key. On my site there is video showing these scripts in action. For sure they save many precious seconds for active scalpers among us. A little extra edge.

Hi guys,

was a bit quiet these days as I was meditating and coding.
I don't want to start a competition with Chris (good job mate) neither will I or we find the perfect indicator.

Ignored
Hey guy...no competition here!

All progress we made is an advantage for all traders in this thread...good job!!

I would like to ask all folks to STOP asking for new indicators..."an indicator that makes this" "an indicator that makes that"...
You don't need any other indicator to trade this... all my trades for this week are made WITHOUT INDICATORS...yes...something was on the chart...but

what is more simple than enter in the direction of the trend when price start to move fast??
This happens ALL DAYS during the trading hours that Edge's has suggested...expecially near to Wall Street open.

So if I can give a good advice:

Trade only in that hours
Wait for the price to start moving strong
Stay with the trend
Stay on EY or GY
Charge your Nitro with 4 lots
Push the plunger for 5 pips
Stop trading

You will be done for the day and satisfied

P.S. If you feel "fear" doing this...you have to restart your mental learning process for this plan
Market is like a puzzle, YOU have to fit the pieces!!

Chris,
I saw this odd behavior a little while ago. An arrow anchored for both directions? i am not sure if this is a bug or not but I would think so. Funny enough both signals would have gone for +5.
Ignored

In that case I....would flip a coin...

I'm jocking...
I noticed the same thing...

It's not exactly a bug...because i have not coded only momentum crosses, but also others (momentum+acceleration) patterns that repeats over and over again...I will check the code too se if i can solve the issue.

For now the simplest thing to do is DON'T TRADE THOSE SIGNALS

Hi DX
Would like to learn ...
I don't see the others pairs ...
It looks that you take signals that are with the trend and also counter trend .
This is something that comes with experience ? That is your style of trading ?
Do you recommend to start taking trades only with the trend ?
Do you have the same results ? (trend /counter trend)
Would like to hear your opinion in this topic if possible .
Tks
David

Hi Chris
Tks for your GREAT contribution . I have 2 Q :
1. I see in post #7141 when you trade 4 lots ...that your preventive SL was 30 pips .That means that in the worst case you will lose
30 pips X 4 lots X $10 = $1,200 .Which represents 12% of you "account".
I know that the SL is just to prevent a disaster BUT , what would you do in that case ? Wait to close your position when the HMA/Trix change color ? What is your SL policy ?
Sometimes the price can move very fast ...
2. The mental part is very difficult . So far I am losing money ...
and it's still OK , I am learning ...
If your 1st trade is a loser , lets say -25 ...
Then in order to be BE you MUST win 5 consecutive trades ...
If you want to achive +20 after only 1 loser , you MUST win 9 consecutive traders ...and if you have 2 losers ?!
This is mentally very , very dificilt ...for me , at this moment it looks almost impossible .YOU CAN NOT LOSE A TRADE .
Would like to hear your opinion . How to overcome those mental problems .
Regards
David

Lets assume your account has depreciated from $1000.00 to $500.00, you have a loss of 50% of your capital.
In order to regain your starting capital an investor must achieve a gain of 100% on the remaining $500.00, not 50%.
A loss of 25% will require a gain of approximately 35%.

Just my way of understanding the importance of money management..

Hey Chris

I agree.

That kinda sums the whole thing up I think! (the red highlight)

A small point; I use GU instead of GJ (GY) same behaviour much less violent.

Another; watch the 4 pairs for PA.

Hi nsteve:

It should be called VELOCITY not momentum. A rose is still a rose...
Ignored
Hi FrankenPip

No. You were calling an apple a rose. You took a definition of momentum from a different domain (physics, engineering) and incorrectly applied it to technical analysis.

Btw .. according to Martin Pring's On Momentum (available from Amazon) "relative strength" is just another way of depicting momentum.

Before I "ignore" your future posts I suggest, if you wish to instruct newcomers in ways contrary to the often repeated focus of this thread, that you do so on your own thread.

Your often misleading and off topic posts are distractions to those dilligently wading through 7k+ posts to glean nuggets from Edge and others who know what they are talking about.

Ok...i see again too much questions about SL, bad trades and so on...

here is someting "magic" .....a very simple 95% winner (if not 95% at least 90%)

The highlighted box is the session when Edge suggests to trade...

The arrows are the TRIX 3,1,1,1 cross

You can enter as soon you see the arrow...or the next candle...no problem... is a 95% winner...

If you trade it out of the suggested hours session...is only your fault...

And remember...you need only 1 GOOD SIGNAL per day now to be done...

We are always at the same point:

- the right session (because there is volatility and the PA moves fast)
- the right pairs
- presence of momentum (TRIX)
- "less is more" concept (more lots...for a few pips)
