Hi there,

I was looking around an indicator that would show after the trade how many pips was the max drawdon for that trade and how many pips was the max profit until the trade was closed.
And by closed I mean either through the S/L, TP or manually.

This would be helpful for anyone wanting to test and optimise profit taking levels and stoploss sizes for ones strategy.

Does anyone know if such thing may be already exists for MT4 or does somebody whose capable of producing such a thing feel interested in working that one out?
Be like a post stamp! Stick to it until you get there!

Here's a simple system idea that I'd like to try.

Place the EA on a 4 hour chart since IBFX daily candles form at 0:00 GMT and not the actual London open.

Place a moving average on the chart. It can be variable.

As soon as the 8:00 GMT candle opens, the EA checks to see if the open was above or below the MA. If the open was above the MA then the EA can only place a long trade that day. If the open was below the MA then the EA can only open a short trade that day.

Here is what happens next. If the EA is looking to place a long trade then it will place a buy trigger 'X' amount of pips above the open of that candle. Once that trigger is hit it automatically places the TP and SL for the trade.

I'd like the trigger to have an adjustable pip amount, but the same value can be used for both long and short trades. The TP and SL values can also be set by the same parameter for long and short trades.

The EA can only place one trade a day. It can also only have one trade open at a time on a single chart. Thus, the EA must close all open trades and orders at 7:59 GMT.

Here is what should be available to adjust in the EA parameters:

1. Moving average period
2. Pip trigger - how many pips above or below the MA the price must move to trigger the trade.
3. TP
4. SL
5. Lot size

Easy enough right?

Thank you,
Matt

glad to find out about this site. thanks to everybody who is running and contributing to it !!!!

I am manually trading the following strategy and would like to automate it. ** Have no knowledge of programming . So, need your help.
I am open to publishing the system here as well.

The strategy is very simple but the profits really depend on consistent use of the system.

Currencies:
GBP/USD , 15/m , entries only 1am -12.30 pm EST ; 20 pips adjustment
EUR/USD , 10/m entries only 1am -12.30 pm EST; 15 pips adjustment
GBP/JPY, 15/m entries only 8pm -12.30 pm EST; 25 pips adjustment

ENTRY : CROSSING of EMA 7 / SMA 14 , time restrictions
EXIT : Same , any time

Stop loss Adjustment : adjust the stop loss to "0" after the target of 15 (eur/usd) , 20 (gbp/usd/) and 25 ( gbp/jpy) .

Let me know you have done anything similar . looks like you have developed lots of them.
Ismail.

* I also wondered whether I need to download any program to be able to view the code ..... I am not able to do it now for some reason.

Hey Traders,

I love blogs / forums / micro-blogs and heck entire social media platforms.

However, I'm new to FF and loving threads like http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=166658

So if anyone of you have some really interesting strategies that you're open to share it with the community, I'm absolutely open to do the coding (EA / Indicator / Script) and dedicate it to this community here.

Lets rock. If possible, lets beat the recession

PS: Any code that I write will be fully available for the entire FF community...

Hi, there,

I think the simple system , based on long candles entry ( size of body+wicks at least2x ATR, the body itself at least 1X ATR ) will work. Well, it would work better for sure if I wasnt missing so many signals due to the presence my 3 months old daughter Sara ) . Thats why I think it would be useful to have an alert that gives a beep once the candle size exceeds 2x ATR ( or maybe some other value). Is it possible for you to code this? Thx in advance

Hello Findmandu,

Sometime ago I asked if you could make this sound alert for me but you have not responded.

Could you make a sound alert for me on the RSI. When the RSI goes above 55 I need an alert. When the RSI goes below 45 I need an alert.

The only two numbers I have on the RSI is 55 and 45 and I use it on the 15 minute chart.

I know you have been bombarded with request and you have a life and need time to trade also. Please help me, I would greatly appreciate this.

Thanks
Jamlor

Alfred: A few quick suggestions. There is no magic indicator or holy grail for you. We all have lost lots of money, and that is part of trading. That is the price of this school. College is a 4 year plan, and so is trading. Stop trading, read more on trading and most important on psychology and how you think. Mark Douglas "Trading in the Zone" is a great start. It takes years to be successful here, especially in forex. Then open a micro account, trade very small amounts for months, build up a 6 month positive cash flow, then get back in. Learn to get emotion out of trading.

Stop Trading for a while.
Why do you want or need to be a "trader" ? It might not be right for you.
What system where you using? Was it yours or did you find it or buy it.
Are you trading with an EA or manual.
What is your mm system.
Do you have a exit point for your system.
Do you have enough equity to trade.
Are you in debt and think that trading can get you out of debt?
(No offence intended)

These are just a few question to ask your self to start with.

Cheers

Kiwi

I have posted this question on the main programming discussion thread. I was going along threw the thread and found your thread. "How convenient"..

I was wondering if you can create an EA from the 3 l zz semafor indi?

What I would need is to have it automated so that when the sema 3 top shows it will buy and vice versa with the bottom sema 3 it will sell.

TP would be adjustable if possible.

SL would be whenever the sema shows on the opposite side...

If this is possible that would be great...

If none of that makes sense please let me know

Looking forward to hear from ya.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I am looking for simple indicator but could not find it and since I have no knowledge for programming in mq4 I ask someone to write it:

if previous bar is red and next (current) bar is green and close of current bar is above 50% of previous bar (including shadow) then make a mark of green bar. When previous bar is green close of current bar should be than below 50% (and in red color). Sound signal would be desired.

Thanks in advanced for all help!

Hi Jamlor

I've attached the indicator which you requested. I've given option for you to enter the period of RSI. I've used close price and 0 shift. If you need any modification on the let me know.

Hi Manoj,

I am a newbie and I just trade with the trend but sometimes the trend is so slow so I place multiple trades to correlating pairs so I could achieve my target profit everyday. Since I can’t be at my computer all the time, could you please help make a script or EA for this?

Example entry could look like this:

Pair1 = EURUSD
Pair2 = USDCHF
Pair3 = (Any Pair)

Opr1 = BUY
Opr2 = SELL
Opr3 = (B/S)

SL1 = 30
SL2 = 50
SL3 = (Stop Loss )

Total_Target_Pips = 50

Once the target number of pips (total positive pips) is hit it will close all open positions even if some pairs are still in negative, at lease overall the trade is still profitable.
Also its better to add alert after all positions are closed.

Thanks !!!

Hey Manoj,

I would like to know whether you can code an indicator that would be able to compare the volume of one bar as a percentage of another volume bar, with the user being able to input which two bars are to be compared.

The reason I am asking is that there is an interesting article called "Price + Volume = Price Movement" by Tim Ord, which gives a strategy based on comparing volume action at support and resistance points for which the above indicator would be ideal.
