Mr Trichet mentioned in his yesterday ECB PressConference, that he was very happy to hear, that Bernanke, Geithner and Obama are all defending a strong dollar. He also said something like, that most CB are shareing this view ....

Hi fti, yes I survived by just stepping aside. I traded well up to the NFP announcement, then kind of got lost a bit during what looked like quite a battle. Had a good week and was not going to run the risk of giving it back - lol. For me, NFP is usually a day to avoid once the data is out. I bet there are lots of people who got sucked in to the initial jump north on the euro, and are really hurting now. I have to admit to being tempted to go south at 1.4292, but discipline kicked in and I went for a run. Important to stick to your strategy and not look back. Have a good and restful weekend.

Then go follow the money,wherever it takes you. I even had to live in New Jersey across the river Hudson, in a old sugar factory housing,thousands of miles from home, for a time due to postings. Even shabby motels and subway cubicles.. If you want it bad enough you will find the motivation to do whatever it takes. Give yourself the best opportunities you can get. In fact, when I was younger,I had lived in so many countries, I feel at home almost anywhere. But of course , I also had stayed in most 6 star accomodations too. It doesn't really matter....

Good Morning FTI,

I rewatched the clip, and I think I understand...He was speaking with the broker on the phone who was trying to get him filled/get quotes from different banks; banks who were making the market. Thats why the broker wanted to break the order up into 2, and get it filled easier and for better pricing.

Was he too small of a fish to be calling the banks for quotes directly? Or was he using the broker for other reasons (anonymity, effeciency). Sorry for all the questions, just want to get a better understanding of the process.

Maybe one day we will see clips of the FTI documentary, "FX Warrior" lol! Have a good weekend!

Thanks for the clip! I totally forgot about this show; both seasons are very entertaining, definately recommend watching.

I actually went to school with the trader Tim featured in the show, he is quite a character. I believe he shorts small cap stocks (pennystocks) as his main strategy. He has a petty interesting story, building his Bar Mitzvah money up into millions over a few years while in college. I think he lost most of it in the ensuing years though lol, so definately not PRO way to trade (another gambler, FTI!).

I ended up hedged 1.4050- 4430 for the long sword as I stood aside during nfp and was busy with other things throughout the day I was not sure what to do and quite frankly I still don't after that strong move down from 4445.
