This is a link to the thread "THV System final edition". The tread is moderated by Cobraforex and even uses Trix-indicators. They trade in TF M5 although a bit more agressive than C4 but also with good results.

I am afraid THV Trix is a bit different from the Trix that we use. I have had a look at it and must admit that I did not understand how it works nor did find the way how it could be useful.

The calculations of our trix are completely different and I second that the THV trix will not be very usefull to Renko because Renko use only information on price, not time.

the above was a post on C4 from pilotui to you and I know in the applid price MA indy 12 stands for period length of MA , 3 stands for type of MA in this case LWMA, I can't really figure out the 6 which stands for applied price.
I understood your question finally
If applied price is set to 6 then it means weighted close in mql language.
I do not know much about codes and stuff like that but there is a site where you can find the standard constants: http://docs.mql4.com/constants

I just finished my first trade today. Now looking what is going to happen at the market as today's trend is not clear at all...

Three more trades. Unfortunately, one of them was a loser.
But overall, almost done for today as my goal is 30-40 pips per day. Maybe will try to catch one more winner in the afternoon (around NY open).

I've been reading your phantastic and very well structured THV-thread from post #1 up to the recent posts. Thank you for beeing a great teacher

As you wrote in your post, the THV-Trix and the smTrix are not the same. I'm not a programmer and so I don't know the exact difference. AND: As I'm not using Renko up to now I am a C4-dinosaur experimenting how to integrate the THV-Ichimoku-cloud and the Coral in my trading concept.

Fosgate_r's indicator that I changed a little bit is - in my version - only an instrument to be used with MTF-Trix-System and (perhaps) with C4-System. I didn't show my version of the TrixEMAboard on the C4-Thread because Edgetrade (my other great teacher ) decided to keep his charts as clean as possible and I don't want to clutter his thread. Indrek asked me for more information and I will be proud if I can give a little input as I learned a lot in FF.

The attached chart shows MTF-Trix, smTrix and the TDI that seems even to be similar. I added 3 red lines that show, that all 3 indicators show similar but not identical signals.

If Indrek's thread also switches to Renko I will stay back with posting and first learn how to manage Renco by watching again.

I like all kinds of dragons including dinosaurs So, please, do not go away. And I suggest not to read C4 from page 150 - it is too much. Read page 1 and that's it.

As I am now using only one Trix for my trades, I still think that the name "MTF Trix" is correct for the system. Trix is the backbone of the system and whatever indicators we add, we use higher timeframe confirmation. So, it is anyway MTF
By the way, have heard some people saying that with Renko charts we cannot have higher TF confirmation as Renko is based on PA. I do not agree! Maybe it should be called "higher dimension" or "bigger picture" but if I put two LWMAs to my Renko charts, one 12 and other 48 then one is "current dimension" and other is higher one

I was thinking about whether it cold be useful to have it like this:

Row 1 --> TRIX (3EEE0)
Row 2 --> TRIX (7EEE0)
Row 3 --> LWMA (12,3,6)
Row 4 --> LWMA (8,3,6)

As I tried to transform the original 3-row indicator developed by Fosgate_r into a 4-row dashbord I spent a whole weekend with this work - and failed.

Peraps Fosgate_r could be so nice to help. Perhaps you - as the moderator of this thread - could contact him. Any better idea?

If you want my personal opinion then there are too many confirmations. I suggest one Trix (3) and two LWMAs. And LWMAs could be either 8,3,6 and 32,3,6 or 12,3,6 and 48,3,6. Point is - correlation 4. I am not a mathematician, rocket scientist nor Queen of England but I trust Swingman who said that correlation 4 is the best between timeframes.
And to have 8 and 12 together is pointless anyway as they are both "current", what we need is one current and one higher TF.


I believe that even when trading higher TF we do not need many indicators, max 3 I would guess. And I personally prefer to have indicators on my chart not dashboards because then I see when an indy is approaching to cross, how big is the distance between LWMAs or whatever. But this is not to criticize your efforts in making a dashboard. For example, such a good trader as lrathi is a big fan of dashboards, too

I'm not feeling criticized. I had an idea and I asked all members to look, find new (better) ideas and develope them. This is pure egoism: Many brains produce many ideas - many ideas get things foreward to be successful - a successful trading-system will bring us pips. And - bingo! - if all people earn pips I will earn pips too.

Perhaps a dashboard will be good for some people. May be the settings are to be changed a little. What do you think about this:

Row 1 --> TRIX (3EEE0) - current TF
Row 2 --> TRIX (7EEE0) - simulates the next higher TF
Row 3 --> LWMA (12,3,6) - current TF
Row 4 --> LWMA (48,3,6) - simulates the next higher TF

There are two things I don't know:
1. Will these settings be useful for success?
2. If the community thinks so --> who will code it but Fosgate_r, the coder of the original dashboard?

What surely is needed are the two LWMAs shown on the chart. You need to see them crossing and you also need them to find out what PA is doing, when to open an trade and wehen to close it.

Let's all try to do our best - brain focussing on the challenge waiting on forex every day.

I am absolutely sure that your idea of the dashboard is very good and many would use it.
BUT!
Two Trixes and two MAs seem to be too much. Besides, Trix also belongs to "MA family", so you would have four similarly performing indicators in the dashboard... Why not to add sth from Stoch family as MA-based things are good for trending markets and Stoch is good for a ranging one.
Have you had a look at the work of a guy who calls himself nittany? I attach his three indicators that work on the principle of dashboard. One shows if there is trend or range and two others are meant one for trend and other for ranging.

I think I can imagine what you mean. Dashboards are (perhaps) good on the chart - but you cannot trade only with dashboards. They show only a kind of "screenshot" what happens at gthe moment you look on them. For example look on this chart:

I think nobody would - or even could - trade in that way.

I surely need some other indicators as here LWMA (12,3,6) and LWMA (48,3,6)

Please: This is only an example - I never would use so much dashboards!

My opinion is that a good dashboard c o u l d be a good supplement to a good chart.

Perhaps an idea: Let's first build a good and useful chart and second think about adding a dashbord (or even not). I'm curious of where the road leeds us to.

Indrek, I know the technical part of Renko but can you explain me with easy words what is the advantage of Renko in comparation to bar or candlesticks and if it is a stand alone system/chart?

I've spend a good ammount of training bucks for candlestick technics and would like to know if it's worth to learn something about Renko.

Do Big Boys use them?

I could google for it but would like to have an answer from someone who was convinced to buy and use it and now has some experience with it.
