I dont know about the Spike... Dont have one yet..

But I have a problem.. I have 3 positions open I want to close the third one... but I cant...Guess they had some rule out from august 1- 09..

How the F*** SHOULD i CLOSE THIS..ANY IDEA...?? aNY ONE... PLEASE...

I cant even put Stops.. OR limits...? WTF...

If you have US broker
it's first in first out
so you must close the oldest position first

Open the opposite side of trade.

so you are saying Hedge it ..I cant... dont have this option.

But if you are saying to open Buy cause I have a Sell..then which one it is going to cancel...First one???

What about setting limits abd stops??

BTW this thing is going to 159.40 minimum

yes the new rule is first in first out. so the oldest position, long or short has to be closed first. Hedging doesnt exist anymore, or is forbidden as well as placing orders. That was what I was talking about in our PM communications. Time to take action Raza

Well they are gonna loose a lot of business..!! People will take their trading business..outside US.. is that what they want...?

But I think .. all brokers world wide will follow as well.. Dont you think..

Its all designed to get the lambs thinking right so they will not smell the blood and panick too soon, retest of lows coming and should be wave 5 and go even lower. So is the russian guy manipulating the market this week or is it the regular guy

No to the contrary they laugh their ass off of this AFM. Those new rules havent anything to do with SEC or government ruling, This is a pure NFA thing as they think they are smart and going to make more money. If, now, you have aposition and you do not want to be naked than you ll have to keep at your seat behind the screens. So people are going to cover all the time, which is better for them.I imagine brokers do lose money on s/l execution as they cant fill all their (good) customer 40 points away from the price . Also note that thanks to the Bush administration most European brokers are not allowed to accept US customers anymore.
So the small acounts basically getting liquidated in the US. Europe would never follow, as the AFM has no jurisdiction here. Nonetheless I know of a few good European brokers here that still accept US citizens as long as they dont trade stocks.

Not really as you can hold US$ accounts with European brokers. You have an option US$, GBP, EUR or Sfr......As an American I would certainly opt for Sfr. but most wont do that out of habbit!

Positions are Short... but not so Big... But I hate to take losses.

So Iwanted to take the last profitable one out first.. But I cant till I take the loss in the First ONE..

Well I am gonna be stubborn.... I wont close any... lets see How far they will Take this thing.....!!! lol...

Fortunately some of the brokers in the US (Gain Capital) also have offices in London for example. They offered me to move my trading platform over to the London office. A simple email to confirm and the transfer was seamless on Friday last week. Never noticed the difference and FIFO is a none issue. Hedging too for that matter. Like the good ole days.

if you close them all at once will you be negative or positive?

FXCM offers the same, although I do not recommend them.

I think it may range before they try to shake out the shorts, you may be allright, yeah, as soon as i saw the new rules, i switched to UK account, its either switch or develop a new trade plan that doesn't allow for hedging
