My tradestation account just expired, I have posted GBPUSD from the past few months instead, I will go through USDJPY manually and post trades from the period you mentioned.

Can you post some text with the trade entry dates for the GBPUSD you posted?.. based on just your 'simulated neural index' alone and also based on that plus the other indicators you are looking at? That would help everyone see how things are working.

Starting 3rd June the following is the list of trades based on NNI, stochastics and price action. I still havnt fully coded NNI in metatrader yet, still using the 2SMA on medianprice and working trades out manually so a bit cumbersome to post all NNI only trades as there are a lot more than with the above system. By the way the latest 4hr trade was short GBPCHF 10 July 1200hrs CET.

Stoploss is high of analysis day (for shorts), target is the same number of pips as stoploss ie 1 to 1 RR ratio, may be some value in scaling out as well but havnt worked on that yet.

I got vp v7.1 and it for sale coz im no longer using it for my trading, im using elliot wave technic nowdays and here's what im offering is vp v7.1 plus 3 market data for forex, metal and index, so if anyone interested for this software can contact me at [email protected] for the price, just email me for the price and for sure i will sell it at a reasonable prices.

I don't think you can do that, VP will not give you the code to install and activate it. Even if the current owner wants to reinstall it they will try to charge a fee. If this was possible I'd have sold mine by now.

You can't sell the software; the license agreement prohibits that and you can't install on another computer without technical help from VP.

ru sure about it, coz i already reinstall it twice and this vp is upgraded from the old version, so i have done it before and dont know about you guys but i have done it before, and if you want to buy it i can sell my pc to you without asking for new code.

Yes it cant be install to other computer but you can ask vp to sent you the new code for the pc by turning off the old code because you need to reg the new pc number when install it to another computer, so i have done it before and i know what im doing and if they want it i can sell my computer too and it will be easy way for you to use it without hassel to reinstall it again and for your info im have 3 copies of this licience and those 2 already sold to another person with permission of vp itself so if you guys think this is a fraud its up to you because im not selling it because it dont work but i selling it because it not fits to my trading system currently.

What is the general concessis on this product?
Is it worth anything to a learning trader or is it a waste on money like most things fx related on the internet?
Previous posters seem very mixed in their opinions.
Right now it is apparently on for the bargain price of 1,450.00.

It's a waste of money, I have had it for 2 or 3 years and I can assure you that it is of no use. Don't forget that you have to pay for data as well so the cost will be more than just the 1450. If anyone PMs you to say it's great ask to see their P&L and see what excuses you get

If you can't read thru this entire thread, go back to at least about post #1186 & read forward from there.

There are VP 'haters' and VP 'lovers'. You'll figure out who's who "pretty quickly".

BeachBum said it right - VP is like a chainsaw... a very powerful & dangerous tool - that can also be very useful if you know how to use it.

Have a look at the 3 attached charts.

Once upon a time Mr Mendolsen did some honest work with the neural networks that are in the product. For stock index trading VP is absolutely worthless per my testing. There have been many unresolved complaints to the better business bureau about them including my own. Tango is an excellent trader who makes money in spite of the random entries provided by VP. The price of VP has been dropping rapidly and will soon hit zero when they go out of business.

bear in mind that VP was giving people free upgrades and extra markets to post positive reviews so no wonder not every post is critical.

the thing that really made my mind up about VP was the way they behaved once their customers started complaining. Their own traderchat.com boards were pulled down overnight and a couple of people who posted criticism here were immediately banned. In fact the entire thread was binned for a while.

There used to be several people on here who attacked any critics and told they needed to work harder etc I think even they have given up now.

No offence to tango but if you could produce your P&L for the same period as the charts you posted we'd be less sceptical.

My P&L statements don't contain -just VP trades. And its not my job to "make you less skeptical" anyway. If you can't look at the charts & see the P&L there -- then you shouldn't be claiming to be a trader.

I'll share some P&L info 'with the world' - when I advertise a coaching/mentoring service, and/or a trade advisory service. Not before.

And also, "by the way" - a few months ago, you were making statements about having created a 'neural index' equal to that of VP - and I asked you to provide the calculation info & the data for the USDJPY to match up with the charts I posted - so 'the world' could see the comparison.

I asked you to do that, & I will gladly overlay those entries on the charts I posted. To date, we haven't seen that come forward from you - how about it?

Posts 1242 and 1244 are samples of the Non Neural Index ie the 2 period SMA based 'indicator'. Post 1222 sets out the calculation but I will paste it again below, it was 96% the same as what VP put out for the same period.

OK here it is, 250 days tested on VPs EOD data for the mini DOW, NI replicated every day except 11, overall 96% correlation to VPs NI. Spreadsheet is in open office S/W so havnt posted it but you can easily replicate it.

Worked out as follows using data from VP excell export.

1. Work out the average price for each day (daily high + daily low)/2

2. Work out the previous 2 days combined average price (average price yesterday + average price day before yest)/2

3 If todays close is greater than point 2 above then the 'homemade neural index' is 1, if it is less than point 2 above then the 'homemade NI' is 0.

So no pork bellies, corn or other markets examined and no 3k price tag, 96% the same as what VP puts out, maybe someone can explain how that can be. Perhaps I'm a genius like the guys that wrote VP although I think there is a simpler explanation.

Further work may result in a higher correlation, maybe even 100% but then why put the work in as its useless for trading anyhow.

I did this by exporting the EOD VP data to excel and then added the very simple excel code.

By the way could I ask how you manage to get the VP logos into your screenshots, thats not a standard feature of VP nor is the copyright message on the screenshot. Also your screenshots are from April and May 2009, could you post the more recent screenshots of the same pairs please?

Hi

Tried the above calc on Cable (GBP/USD) cash

My results for last two years to 13/11/09 only show a 45% match to VP NI

Can somebody check?
