I'm using a script as well with preset SL 30 and TP 5 and 3% of balance relative to the SL size.
Maybe Alpari doesn't allow TP smaller then whatever.

I've found the indicator attached really good, even with scalping it has kept me out of trades that I think may bounce right back at me. One thing to note, price action very rarely goes past Resistance 3 obviously as with anything in life, let alone forex, its not always 100%, but we are dealing in probabilities here.

A brilliant example was a bit earlier on this morning on EU. By the time the buy signal candle had closed it had nearly reached R3 so I didn't take the chance, with the 2 pip spread I have on EU it only went 2 pips into profit before sinking.

I am still testing and won`t clog up the thread with charts.

Just looking at GBPUSD today to see whether I can tweak Trix based on ATR on 5M charts moving it down to 1m entries.

This is what the first 3 signals looked like.

+10 +10 +10

It is tough if you are IT-challenged, old and slow, a member of DENSA not MENSA but I am making progress

Here a screenshot of the Ergodic. It seems to not jump around as much as the Stochs and fits in well with the Renko signals. Any thoughts?

I'm sorry to interrupt this thread and have enjoyed reading and trading it a little bit so far, even though it is very long.

I have a question related to Renko that i think will be easily answered but i haven't seen the answer by reading yet, so i will ask.

Do the 1 minute charts that are originally used to load Renko script on need to stay open the whole time to keep updating the offline M2 chart?

I only ask as if the answer is yes, which i think it is, they do take up a lot of room on the bar.

Thank you to all for your time and efforts and apart from sore eyes from lots of reading, i have learnt some worthwhile points from this thread.

choose it from the Navigator
mouse right click to bring up menu
choose Modify.
Click
It brings it up in the Metatrader Editor..

Modify it there.

Very astute observation and makes a clear and concise connection between the strength of Nitro (Renko) and the simplicity of C4. Here you are able to incorporate a bit less noise with the Renko Mt4 script into the normal candlestick charting package. Perhaps removing the Heiken Ashi wicks will be a worthwhile study???

Incorporating Renko script into HA candlestick....

Below is the template I'm currently using.....

1. HMA channel = Primer

2. smTrix = Detonator

3. T3MA lines = Providing support and resistance

4. Renko bar size = 5 tics

P/S : On your existing Renko 5 tics script, insert the template attached on top of that. But remember, you'll have to keep the 1 min chart running all the time.

Bingo.... now you have the Heiken Ashi (HA) template on top of Renko script...

Yes, you can keep the 1 min chart open but minimised.

Oh.. That is because I have mine in the Expert directory.
There was a problem mentioned in the thread regarding updating...
so suggestion was made to put it in the Expert directory
and then attach it to the chart from there...
so smiley face...

I did see that post. Edge said, "EU is not a Nitro pair of choice", but apart from testing, he didn't say why. I try to understand the thinking behind the suggestions offered by all so I can draw my own conclusions, do my own testing and adapt to changing circumstances. The market changes, as we have seen in the last year. Many large institutions with the best hardware, software, data and brains, that made millions in forex before, have failed. Adapt or die ... and its my money and future I'm trading.

Does MT4 have to stay on permanently in order to keep renco current. I switched my machines off last night and when put back on this morning had lost all previous days' indies. Any solution to this apart from keeping PC's on permanently??

Put your renko script into the experts folder....NOT script folder....then drag the script into the 1min chart.... go to offline M2 chart... left click the chosen pair... bingo... you got the renko chart....

I don't have any problems like yours... when I switch on my MT4... it will continue updating.....

So on that positive note:

Can you explain your actual entry criteria as
you mention your system is a little more sophisticated than just a zero cross of the Sinc Cycle and that you a are also using POSITION, VELOCITY and ACCELERATION of the indy - can you enlarge on this for ALL of us on here please?

Also what is "flatlining", as I have never come across this term?

Also you mention an OCO set-up. What are you basing these entries? What are your entry rules and do you use indis for this etc.

We ALL look forward to these answers.

Jazzman, you have done great with the settings, I appreciate it very much. I want to say that first... second, these optimized settings do look great but I have watched it repeatedly repaint a closed candle
where it showed a closed confirmed cross of the .1 level
in this case and then later changed it so it had never crossed.

I took off the signal cleaning and watched it do it again still.. so I am going back to the original settings, the default and see if those repaint the same way, just FYI.
