Ian, it's apparent that you're looking for a fly in the ointment. Skepticism is good, and needed so that people don't get the impression that this is easy. The losers do need to be pointed out just as much as the winners. That way, people can see where these occur and possibly come up with ways to avoid them. I agree with your post that an eyeball of a chart has to take into consideration the spread. This is something everyone needs to be aware of if they are planning any strategy based on a visual back test.
Regarding your post on the 100% hit rate as observed by Swingman (which was amended down to 98% after I tried it and started with a loss), that was only when there were two histograms bars preceding the triangle that were the same color. another one of those trades came up not too long afterwards, and it was a winner. I had a stop set of 33, and it went about 27 against me. Also, the trade that I did lose would have been a winner with a 35 pip stop loss.
Bad R.R which Edge has spoken of, I know.
Many posts here of people trading this system live that are having success. Yes, not everyone trading it identically. But, many are trading close to what Edge recommends and making pips.
The recipe is pretty tasty as it is. Like any good chefs would want, if there's another ingredient or two, or a different temperature that might make it better, those that are following along are experimenting and reporting their results.
There's a principle of success called the Master Mind principle. At the helm is Edgetrader and he has gathered together a group of individuals (by virtue of his trading expertise) to unite in a common goal.
Anyway, keep up your posts. Keep exposing any percieved flaws. Just as everone needs to hear what's right, everyone also needs to know about any flaws or weaknesses. Many times we learn more from failures and mis steps.

I would love to, but I can't. I dispensed with charts yesterday when I got the EA working.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I rewrote the source of the Renko to get rid of freezing problems etc.

Then I decided while I was at it to just build the indy right into the Renko itself.

Then I thought, I don't really need to even see this!

So the EA just sits on the M1 chart which drives it with ticks (like the Renko EA you all have) but it does the Renko blocking, the indy analysis and the trading, all in one bit of code.

So my MT screen is just an empty dark gray area with a little 2cm square, rather lonely little M1 EU chart in one corner with nothing on it, looking rather sorry for itself....

If the issue is giving it away for free I totally understand that. I for one cannot sit in front of a computer 24/7. I have no idea how to code. I have read this thread for day one till now. I feel I have good grasp on basics. If someone codes for a fee pm me, I have no problem paying for anything. I'm just saying if you're not going to make something available in some form or another quit talking about how great it is.

Yes indeed! Hadn't thought of it that way. Cleanest setup of all is.... no charts!! LOL

Could there be a typo in the sheet:
at 30/07 03:30 a sell was entered at 1.40469, but the trade still had a T/P at 1.40575 (altho with a negative profit). I've never seen that happen before, but I'm not an expert.
