I think I understand your question. One of the things I asked if someone could change the TP to a choice of either the Middle MA line or the opposite BB line. I know I wont get a chance to do that for at least a month. So if anyone wants to try that let us know.

Your English is pretty confusing worse than mine, hard to forgive!

Edit:

I have successfully added first TP to top Band but what will happen to subsequent steps? What TP to use? Moreover upper Band level level at the time of entering first level is taken as TP and this band could change as price moves..
One more improvement I have tried is using lower TF confirmation which really works well.

OK you can add TP = top BB band -2 and bottom BB band +2 that way it wont interfere with the new buy and sell. Or it shouldnt anyway.

What I meant was, suppose price moves further down after buying your first level, say by 200 pips, then what will be the TP of the second level? Will it close at top BB or at or at TP of 200 set externally? Since the Bands keep changing, when do we add TP to our position? Suppose we add TP at the time of entry, price may reach upper or lower band at altogether different point. So this TP has to be dynamic.


One more thing I wanted your clarification about is, if the Band is in a compressed state, then our entry is very close to the median and normally there will be an expansion later whihc move price much beyond. Is there any way out? Is it better to have a filter?

Reentry questions wont happen because the EA is based on hitting the upper or lower bands. In other words it does not reenter ever x amount of pips like the other EAs. It has to hit the upper or lower band to reenter. Like the other EAs when it hits the TP it closes all positions. Again the 200 TP is just a number, how you run and control the TP is based on your understanding of the market. Obviously gbp/jpy easily hits a 200 TP while a eur/chf may never get there. So TP needs to be dynamic, the only answer I have for that now is to make the TP the middle band or the opposite band. Otherwise you need to set your own TP.

The compressed state problem was addressed by making the band based on a 40MA rather than the 20MA. This prevented the bands from compressing as much or over extending. Of all the MAs I looked at for this the 40 seemed to give the best balance. Remember no matter what you use in an EA there is give and take. Some numbers improve something but will cause new problems. In my opinion the 20 MA was simply too tight at certain points and the 60 MA was too inflexible so I settled with 40. No matter what numbers you do, you will get a runup/down on the bands. However, you are entering at a much later position than you would with a 60x90 or 180x100. So fewer trades. You may or maynot like that feature of the BB EA.

The key to any EA is knowing its strengths and weaknesses. That is why I dont like purchased EAs, they never tell you its weakness (everyone of them will have a weakness because they do not ever read fundamentals or news). When I post my EAs and have discussions I want to make sure you understand the potential strengths and weaknesses so you can trade intelligently. For instance if the USA changes its interest rate, you know to lay off and wait for the market to settle before turning on any of my EAs. As long as you understand that weakness (I believe all EAs have that weakness no matter what the ads say). The other weakness is the long drawn out trends (like the CAD is doing now). Once you understand these two things I believe you can make money with my EAs.

So we are looking at a single entry EA which is a good option. However, if we choose opposite band as TP there is a possibility that that we may even end up with loss when there a huge fall like it happens in GJ. So in such cases we should have set TP.

Now I agree with selection of 40MA over 20MA especially after seeing today's fall!

i thought about an idea to prevent losses in higher levels. i try to explain i hope the same idea was not writen here before, else i can't remember and beg you parton.

well, you have 7 levels open with TP*Pip (60x90, 35x25 etc) system. now the 7th Level goes back but did not reach TP, but it goes back so much pips in profit that you can close Level 1 completele and partially the other 5 levels, that:
level 2 become Level 1, Level 3 become Level 2 and so on. here is a example before closing. L1 stands for Levels and then the Lotamount. i choose a multiplier of 2 for this example for easy understanding:

L1 0.01
L2 0.02
L3 0.04
L4 0.08
L5 0.16
L6 0.32
L7 0.64

now L7 move into profit that you could close Level 1 completely and the others looks like this:

L1 0.00 (closed completely)
L2 0.01 (partial close with a factor of 2)
L3 0.02 (same as Level2)
L4 0.04
L5 0.08
L6 0.16
L7 x.xx

my question is: how much pips have the price go back to become scenario #2 and how much lots will be remain for Level 7? who has a mathematical formula for this? i think this make sense because how often does it happen that price doesn't go back till TP and you like to prevent losses. with this you could transform (move) the Level grid in the desired direction without loosing money. hope this was not to complicated with my school english.

Your idea is good, and we have been in similar situations umpteen number of times.Bob has his method of tackling such situations, 242.
I used to stop the EA close the top level manually and change the magic number. We need to able do this automatically. Another way out probably is have an option externally in this EA to close positions individually instead of all together.
We are trying to fine tune latest BAND based EA and I hope you will assist isn providing your programming skills.

Good idea but we will need a good programmer for that one. I believe that would work, will think about it.

i'm working on an EA with some of my german traderfriends. we were in a betatest with a nanningbob EA like a swiss knife. it has more features like the old v1.9 there is a normal and a rescue mode with the possibly to set different parameters for each mode like multiplier, leveldistances and tp. but more later. i hvae to translate the manual first in english. the last extension were the closing system described above. there is a breakeven alert system and a new powerfilter were you be able to trade nearly every pair in a 5m timeframe. with an semi-automatic range and retracement detection. there is a newly indicator which works as a visuall HUD in conjuction with the EA. a little screenshot below. if this blinky thinky is ready i will post it asap.

It has been going OK on 4hr TF, do you think it does better with 4hr or lower time frames like 15min or 60 min?

In your EA is the setting for the gap called StopGap?

SotpGap is the distance between and price and stop order. Pips is the gap between trades.

News this week: Aud--interest rate change Tues. Be careful if you have any AUD trades going that day. GBP & EUR -- Interest rate change Thurs. Both of these on the same day could be very exciting if either one makes any changes. If both do maybe a good day to sit out. I dont expect anything will happen but then if it does that is what makes forex trading so interesting.

Lately I have had guys ask me what I am trading. On my live accounts I am only using the 180x100 (this thread) and the 4H trading system (another thread). Because I am doing a lot of travel right now I am only using the 4H trade system because I can go several days and not see my computer. I am demo testing the BB system but my results will be inconclusive because my computer is not on 24/7 so it is missing some trades it normally would get. I hope to get back to nanning by the 15th but that will depend on whether I get quarantined when I try to cross the border back into China. If I suddenly go silent after the 15th you will know they got me or someone in my family. My son's wedding was fantastic with it being located on the old Paul Masson Vineyards. (We will sell no wine before its time) What a great place to have a wedding. Happy trading.

Hello Traders,

i made a newsmatrix. there you can see the high impact news on 19 currencypairs. the red fields marks the news. the yellow fields are 12 hours before news and there you have to watch out to close your positions early. the green field are before the yellow fields and mark the safe trading times.
you can see that EURCAD, EURCHF and CHFJPY are tradable safe until thursday. EURGBP, GBPJPY are GBPCHF tradable after monday 11.00 h (GMT+1) for about 24 hours until the next high impact news.
if you find this helpfull i'll try to update the matrix every weekend. you can download them here at sunday, print and hang on next to your desk.

Is anyone tradeing the NanningBob V2 ea live? I am actually doing quite well with it on 1hr and 4 hr charts.

I am wondering whether it would be best to turn ATR for SL or not. Is anyone using this ea with success with or with out ATR?

If you are talking of EA with Stop orders, then I am using it both on demo and
Live . Live account is a small nano-account with somewhat safer settings.
Demo has done very good. I use M15 or M30 on GJ, GU, EU, EJ, UC and UJ.
About ATR, I have not used this function as I do not know much about it.

Your setting of H1 or H4 should be very safe on any pair.
