DislikedHi guys..
thanks for the reply with regards the legend.
here`s another one for you.
after doing some reading is it possible to have the reversal bars filtered out by only identifying the reversal bars that form after at least two trending bars i.e. to up bars for a bearish reversal bar and two down bars for a bullish reversal. that would help identify a change of direction as we get loads of reversal bars especially through range bound times..
just more thoughts..thanks again and keep up the great work..Ignored
DislikedSir,
I have downloaded the indi, but I tried to attached , its not showing in my navigator. my MT4 is V222. Please help.
ThanksIgnored
DislikedIf you copy the EX4 file to the ...../experts/indicators folder, and then exit and re-start MT4, it should show in the 'Custom Indicators' tree in the Navigator. This is true for all indicators.
However, there may be problems with Windows Vista accessing files under the Program Files folder. I only use Windows XP myself. If you are using Vista, and your MT4 is installed somehwere under Program Files, then I'm not sure how to solve this problem, short of reinstalling MT4 somewhere else. Perhaps another Vista user could help?

DislikedThanks for your reply, but after the download, this is the only thing that appears in my metalEditor window even for recent candle indi

DislikedSorry, when you mentioned 'Navigator' in post #29, I assumed that you meant MT4's Navigator, as opposed to MetaEditor's.
The EX4 can be run from MT4's Navigator; dragging the 'Candle Identifier' icon onto any chart will attach the indicator to the chart.
You can not load an EX4 (executable file) into MetaEditor. You need the MQ4 (source code) file, to make modifications, and you must then recompile it to have the modifcations included in the new executable. Sorry, but the MQ4 source code for Candle Identifier is not available.Ignored
DislikedSir, Im trying to run it from MT4 Navigator, Ive downloaded it several times, and save it to the expert/indicator folder, but its not showing in my MT4 navigator.I need this indi, I believe it will help me alot in my learning process. thanksIgnored
Disliked@woleadu: I don't know why you're experiencing a problem. The indicator has apparently been downloaded by more than 750 people, and nobody else has reported this kind of error. As far as I know, the latest version of MT4 is build 225. Perhaps you could try reinstalling MT4, and upgrading to the latest version.
@Jigsaw: Currently it doesn't test for the 'HC' part of DBLHC (and vice versa). I'll add this feature in the next release, when I get some time. A long time ago I recall seeing an indicator (probably in the J16 chart thread)...Ignored
DislikedHanover,
Appreciate your swift reply, I should have all of them downloaded somewhere as I have read the J16 thread several times, so I am sure it must be lurking around on a Metatrader folder somewhere back home. Looking forward to the next release whenever you get around to it.
Best Regards and thanks again,

DislikedJeez,
My apologies Hanover I swore I had replied to this within an hour of you posting :|.
I described it incorrectly in my post above, (used to trading them but not used to putting it into words I guess heh) the DBHLC - the LC bit is a close lower than the previous candles low. The DBLHC - The HC bit is a close above the previous bars high.
Chart attatched.
Thanks again, and apologies for the confusion.
Regards,

DislikedTry the attached. Let me know if it's working correctly, and I'll update post #1 accordingly.
The important parameter settings are:
- DBL_TOPS_BOTS = true; (switch dbl tops/bottom facility on)
- DoubleTBTolerance = 1; (only 1 pip diff allowed betw DBL/DBH)
- DoubleTBLookback = 1; (comparison made only with immed prev bar)
- DoubleTBBarsGap = 0; (no intervening bars)
- DoubleTBWiderClose = true; (apply J16 HC/LC test)
