Found Hawai Electric interesting. Pinbar with increasing volume at PPZ and 38.2 retrace. Just watching and learning.

I really like this freestockcharts.com

I haven't found if you can check multiple exchanges though? Would not surprise me if it's an American company......we tend to not be so "worldly".

Something funny about the ForexStockCharts software. I just took notice about the ads displayed on the right side. I perceive ads in a different way as I filter them subconsciously but sometime they come through.

There are ads like Learn How One Man Turned $100k into $1.5 Billion Now ... or The Only Forex Robot That Makes 100% Every Month! Trading The Forex Markets For You.

These ads can be handled in several different ways:

  1. Don't believe and don't click giving yourself the chance to make it.
  2. Don't believe but click to generate income for the adsense publisher with no cost and giving yourself the chance to make it.
  3. Believe, click and pay an expensive lession bringing you back to 1 or 2.

If you're using this software take the chance and let each of these ads tell you that YOU have to do it or it will NEVER be done.

Beautiful chart. I've never traded options. So forgive me for the silly question. Would you sell an option as soon as the pin breaks in the stock price or enter after the break of the option price ? i know the question doesnt make sense , but I donno how else to word it

As usual, I have no idea what you are talking about. But I will try to answer....

It's Sunday night, therefore the markets are not open. If it breaks lower tomorrow - I am selling calls, and a lot of them. (Hope that answers)

Because of the size of the gap, I feel it's more economical to sell calls instead of outright shorting.

I would sell them just like shorting the stock. So when it breaks the bottom of that bar cleanly - I would be selling at that point.

I don't hold options until expiration typically, so what happens is I get paid a premium, and then I see how much I can hold onto as time goes on.

It's like playing the market on the cheap.

HSI, hongkong index flying again today.
I never even dreamed that I would be trading hongkong stocks, if not for you Chris.

Just opened a prorealtime demo and while looking through I found this chart. It is at the bottom of a channel, there is a strong bullish doji the trend is up. Would this have been a good trade to go long at the close of this candle with me only having end of day ticks? If this iusnt a good place why isnt it? Stocks are like cricket to me Ive seen it before and I know you hit the ball but why do they use a flat bat.

I like the $11 mark on this chart. The only real cause for a little bit of a pause would possibly be the fact that the last high was so much lower than the one before it.

This company makes World Of Warcraft, and I believe the Guitar Hero series - so it has a loyal fan base.

No worries mate. Actually, I am finding I like the HKSE more and more as time goes by.....it tends to move a little slower, and that's not a bad thing.

Plus it has the added plus of being Chinese.

Well the main difference is that if I were buying puts, I would need to hit the strike price plus whatever the premium I paid. So if it's $5 away, and it cost me $2......I need it to move $7 just to break even.

If I sell a put, I collect the money upfront, and I don't care where it goes as long as it's not the strike price plus my premium. For example:

I sell a put with a strike price of $50 on my stock. I collect premium of $2.50. For me to lose money, the stock would have to go to $52.51. Plus, and for reasons that would take another complete forum, when you sell......time works in your favor the longer you hold onto your position.

If you are buying a position. Time works against you.

Also, as a side note - there's a stat that something like 80% of all options expire worthless. I have no fear at all going "naked" on an option, because I only trade really liquid ones.....I wouldn't sell options on a small stock....but there are a hundred reasons why someone would allow me to reverse my position on an Apple option........a ton of people moving around it.

I will say this: Options opened up a whole new world for me.

yeh $11 looks like the price zone, ideally you would have taken the prior pin bar a few days before as it was bouncing off trend line and $11, but it is a viable setup to take on the break.

FYI a H&S pattern may be forming/have formed...

then again im learning too and may be wrrrong
