Great job Sman will test when market opens thanks for your contributions. From back tests the signals are 100% correct.

I believe Edge does have a 2 to 1 sl to tp ratio because the percentage of the wins is so great. You are correct in how you assess the movement of the 10 pip bars .. if you buy at close of an up bar, trade can go -19 against you without painting a new bar.

It was hard for me at first to accept the larger SL but as I kept going (in a micro acct!) I found that the win percentage is really so high .. it is no longer an issue.
Great post!!! Some of us must realise that before this we used to have 20, 30, and 40 pip stops.

Yeah I have been doing some different tests with different take profit levels and stop levels, I'll keep plugging along. I have to defer to edge though, if he says a 1:2 RR works for him then I'll do some more visual back tests.

which indicator are you referring to? The smRenko Signals v2 gave mostly bad signals on my charts....

Swingman,

I was wondering if you could help. I'm having a bit of a problem with the Trix indicator "smsuper Trix_MTF_V1.1"

I want to try it on a 2 hour time frame (120 minutes). If I enter 60 or 240 (1hour or 4 hours) into the 'upper_time_frame' the indicator is visible, however when I enter 120 (2 hours) into the 'upper_time_frame' and the indicator goes blank.

Any thoughts on why this may be?

Apology for the circumstances and forget this indi because Edge also said it is not usable. Wait the next years until you get an super-tooper-poly-diamond indi from other programmers...

I think like your smcandles this indi is useful. Sure I changed the range, but will have to wait till the market opens to see what it does ( atm, it prints the same signal on my 5 pip renko's).
No need to apologise, you've been super helpful. Btw, as Edge said, I'm sure he was simply enjoying a moment of Sunday levity.

Historically accurate. Everyone on planet earth has this beat into their heads from birth to death.

However, we need nowhere near this level to do quite well. We need only a few pips extracted from but ONE 10 tic bar. Even at 75-80%, we will do very well indeed.

Many here have made the mistake of assuming 'Nitro' and C4 are the same. Wrong!

As per vocabulary, Nitro and C4 are separate plans completely. I mentioned previously that the indi's and integrators were different altogether.

Regardless, the salient point is that, with an open mind, I can indeed provide you with enough tools to have you well on your way to becoming proficient in your trading endeavors relatively quickly. Trading is nowhere near as difficult as many over the years have lead you to believe.

In addition, there is little doubt that 'less is more' is a very good trading concept during these turbulent market and economic times. It seems an empty arguement to attempt to qualify a more pip, let the trade run philosophy at this time.

Why, because nobody alive is able to forcast exactly when these 'trends', regardless of length, are going to develop. And neither candle, point and figure, renko, bar or any other charting format is not going to help do that either.

The only 'constant' that can be counted on as 100% certain is some manner of PA movement. It (PA) will move up or down during normal market trading times 100% of the time. A simple ATR reading of any chart at any TF and on any day, week or month will confirm this. As such, we need only a relatively small amount of PA in order to go to work here.

That said, it is amazing how a 'preview' of a new plan has literally been digested as one providing the holy grail of trading, or something perceived as damn close. It is not of course anything of the like. It is something I worked on for some time and have had some success with. It was never provided in its entirety to this thread. It is those with the restless souls and mathematic curiosity that have taken it upon themselves to plow forward with it as previewed. I mentioned that I would step back and watch the thing unfold, and will continue to do so.

This is not done with amusement. I am actually quite impressed with the energy and thought put into unraveling what appears to be some sort of puzzle. At both least and most, everyone is really doing some hard thinking here and engaging that which holds the key to success, the human brain. Good job there and GOLD STARS for all!!

Once again though, and for the record, I think C4 is the single best option to continue with at this time. It is already proven as viable and profitable. I think chaos will rein this week though as so many cannot wait to play with the new toy. I sure hope this MT4 Renko has merit or all hell will break loose. And I ain't taking the heat on that if it doesn't work out so not one question or posting directed at me better show up referencing 'Nitro' assumed failure.

Remember, 10 pips a day average and you make the team. 20 pips a day average and you are in the starting lineup. 30 pips a day average and you make the annual all star team.

Learn to take that 30 pip average and apply the process day in and day out over a career and you enter the Hall of Fame. Not so much as a trader, but as an excellent provider to your spouse, children and grandchildren. That is the ultimate accolade one can earn in this, or any other profession imho.

As I said before, you have already made 2 killer indicators for renko .. the trix colored candles and the applied price MA (which edge does not think is necessary). Put these 2 on a renko chart and look what happens every time they allign....

You must know from other MTF indicators that thay use the internal default time frames, and not calculated TFs. Your 120 minutes are not in the MT4 TF list, and I missed this.

Unfortunately, even in MT5 there is not the H2 TF, but you have 1,2,3 etc. minutes for scalping.

You could use "Period Conversion Opt" to modify your chart to 2hr. Then apply your indicator on the created chart using default 0 TF, I guess.

If people blow themselves up with nitro this week, I doubt the pieces can sue...

Perhaps Tex has cleared this up as it is American humor that is sometimes mistaken by others as an affront.

Demolition school, very similar to inmates running the asylum at times.

Got to be proficient with M80's and C4 first. Nitro a bit more volatile.

Wonder what "Nuclear Meltdown' will bring? Probably lead to complete anarchy.
