Can you see it now? How do I get out of this trade w/o burning my fingers? I am very inexperienced trader. Please advise someone.

Took a hit of $1400 wiping out all the profits of the week . Am back to square 1. My original capital intact.1 silly mistake made me pay big time.

As regards to your trade, firstly, original money intact? great.. No harm, except to your ego

Reduce the number of Max trades to 8, I actually use 4, but 8 is ok. This will give you the endurance you need. Also start looking at the history of good/bad trades.. Take out the triggers for the bad trades.. I.E for some reason all my JPY trades suck. So I no longer trade that trigger.

Vinesh, you are also making a mistake in thinking that 2 trades constitute a basket; your minimum trades per basket is too low at 2.

The point of basket trading is to iron out some of the volatility in market movements. In a basket of, say, 7 trades, two or three can go badly astray but the other four can drag the basket into a closable profit.

In a basket of 2 there is little of this equalising going on. You also run the risk of one of the trades not being sent, leaving you with a single trade, not a basket. I am not going to explain how this can happen; the reasons are well documented here and in KG's thread.

Your tp is too high. So far as I can make ou, you are looking for a tp of 2000 pips, (200 in old money). That the optimum is 100(0) is also well documented here. You will have many baskets come within hailing distance of your tp before falling back into dd.

Given that you are an inexperienced trader, I suggest you go back to KG's original thread and do some more reading. Then re-read this thread; most of the early discussion is about development of the DC robot as we thought at the time that it had the best future.

There is no need to read from the beginning. Go to the first post here and click the link to KG's thread, then navigate to Page 71, post 1051, and start reading from there. Follow the development of both the systems and the robots I have written to trade them.

Take your time, try to absorb the thoughts of the good posters there; you will quickly come to know whom they are.

So, are you saying you have had trades reach +400 pips but the robot has not set a stop loss at +20?

My broker quotes 5 decimal, hence 400 pips.

Changed over to MBT MT4 platform. DC shows error no. 4054. It says 'GBPUSD send order failed' it cites error no. 4054 which is incorrect array ....
I think MBT is not a market maker but ECN broker.Can its feed be a problem?

p.s. The spreads are really small and nice but requires minimum 10000 as deposit.

Can any one suggest the best where DC or Range Trading is working better. Is one working out better for any one in the long term?

No idea. If MBT is an ECN broker, then you need to turn BrokerIs2stageCrook to true.

MBT started developing their own MT4 platform before the rule changes were even heard about. They do not have a live version of it yet since it is still in beta.
The minimum deposit is not $10000, it is actually $400. The 10000 depsoit is probably for stocks deposit.

No, sorry, as I am busy elsewhere. I am on record here as coming to the conclusion that DC is not a successful strategy. I do not use the ea and so have no interest in developing it. If you are using the DC robot successfully, then use mtpm to manage the trades instead.

Hi guys, I just started demoing the range trader last week. I have a JPY basket open with a 1400 pip loss right now. Its only a 14% drawdown, but I was curious as to when trades such as this may become unrecoverable. How many days or weeks do you wait?

How is your Range Trader doing. Mine has been going down steadily for several weeks. I am afraid I am close to a margin call. I was up 80% in June, but have gone down the tubes. I imagine everyone else is having the same lack of success. Are you having the same? It sure has been quiet around here the last month. Thanks.
