I see, Forex Factory has them the other way around. I suppose it makes no practical difference to us (if not trading the news) since they come out at the same time.

I don't know it. I only use EAs for backtesting, so an TP handling EA is of no interest to me. I trade live with a UK spreadbet company, not an MT4 broker.

I wish I had enough time that I could afford to waste some fixing an EA that is of no use to me.

[Hi, whether close of part of an order is available manually depends upon your broker.
But of course you can close part of an order in MT4 with an EA.

Here is the syntax of the Close Order statement in MQ4:-]


Thanks to Karl and Ian for offering suggestions for the Take Profit Ea that I spoke of in #1164.

Whilst this is a fairly new EA offered in Mq4 format and listed as:-

I am not qualified to attempt any changes to it.

However I must say that I am getting exactly what I expect in terms of Dollars and pips.

Nice work, clear and concise.

GOLD STAR to 'Syahmi' also. Has an interesting variation to offer. A bit of clarification on exact trigger mechanism is all that is needed. Has already stated SM Trix is detonator.

Lots of indi development and research continues. Now we have an 'ea' for traders to consider also. Will see how focus goes come next week.

Interesting first week in the books. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 6. Tremendous energy to the thread but that is expected with a new flavor of the week being introduced. Everyone had a chance to blow a few things up and many had some success. Others still unsure and feeling their way through the plan.

A few personality clashes occurred, not totally unexpected with the amount of folks following along. Wanted to thank everyone for their contributions and professionalism in participating this week.

Still looking for someone to answer the challenge. Is their an indi out their that you can proof up that surpasses that of the trix? If nothing posted over the weekend laying claim to such, will move on with trix being front row and build around it.

Good plan augmentation with 200 EMA and MTF trix introductions. Easy to place and does not clutter chart. Trend is your friend stuff, well recognized and respected in ALL trading circles.

SM working on something when he can showing HA candles matching trix when he gets through with an ea he is working on for something else. If successful, will de-clutter charts further.

Anne taking time this weekend to further test her own ea development. Always looking for an extra 'edge' when scalping and will see how this aspect progresses.

Was going to let that pass and give applause for effort. It seems all the trades marked are against the plan, late entry per signal and what not. However, all I asked for was chart shots and he produced.

Great question, my man!
...question posed is both daunting and simple at the same time.
Quickly-
I've personally plotted time(timeframe) on y-axis and our unresolved stars on X-axis.Final Resolution is extreme. Timing the "resolution" I suspect needs a velocity measure (measuring an Edge type price explosion).
Besides that, I really don't have much more to share.
I've done some work on it and that's it.

I was thinking about, going about somehow plotting a C4 explosion( velocity) over the weekend.

Take my word for it?

Hi Everyone

End of week results for the EA. Well, only half a week really as I started the robot early Wednesday morning when I got it working, and turned it off Friday lunchtime to avoid the chance of having trades open over the weekend. So 2.5 days of actual trading.

Account screenshot for today attached. I opened a clean £10,000 account for the EA and it is currently up £585 or 5.85%. This is 2.35% a day which is very much in line with Edge's claims for the system. If anything, Edge is conservative in his claims.

The robot trades EVERY Trix opportunity without emotion of fear. It uses ONLY plain Trix - no other indys at all. It made around £1000 and lost around £415, again exactly in line with Edge's performance predictions.

Since I trade a fixed 0.2 lot, the robot made +293 pips nett over the 2.5 days or around +117 pips a day.

Remember that this is only 1 pair, GBPUSD!

The robot is just as I wrote it - no optimisation or intelligence. I have analysed the trade set (there are a LOT of trades!) and I can easily filter poor times of day etc. Also, SL/TP needs refinement.

I know I can't eliminate every bad trade - pointless even trying so I won't bother adding extra "filters". I guess some folk would say that if it carries on performing as it is now, why bother to change anything?

But I think I can half the losses without too much extra work giving me around +150 pips per day on GU.

If I can get it to perform similarly on a few other pairs then all goals will be met (in fact exceeded by a safety factor of around 4).

Waiting very much for your EA! And again - there is always the possibility to filter out bad trades by letting the EA to take trades to only one direction.

Today only managed to get half of yesterday ie 50+ pips of micro lots (500 pips of mini lots).

I was trading the divergence on all 3 trades I marked them on this chart but wasn't sure how to put them on the original attachment. (will have to figure that one out over the w/e)

Trix is more than just crossovers. There are many other setups that can be traded, as posted by others here.

On roto's chart, I don't think he marked his trades .. it looks like elba marked where he thought they were taken .. and of course the entries were all wrong.

Excellent work here Anne.

Is it possible to 'optimize' that little monster by testing it only during the times encompassing the Asian/London and London/U.S. market times, that being approx 0600 to 0900 and 1100 to 1500 GMT respectively. Am sure that will produce a bit better results and allow traders from ALMOST any location some flexability to watch it work and pay attention to it.

Also, is it Candle or Renko based?

Ok, plan not great today at +10/-20 levels. Looks like 22 trades were presented by the market and a 16-6 record could have been had just with the basic materials used as a trading guide.

Still, that nets out at +40 pips and is still a positive day. Have attached charts with trading op's market for review at your leisure. Magenta verticals are 'positive' trades, yellow are 'negative'.

Roto's post #1219 is the one I am glancing at. Trades are marked, most are bad but the signals sure do show up.

Anyway, is way late to go to deep into that aspect. The plan is viable as we have ascertained this week, and those who wish to incorporate any aspect of such into their own trading is fine by me. If it helps them make just a couple better trades, it is worth it to me. That of course goes for any trader.

Edge,
I was trading the divergence between the trix and PA.

On other trades waiting for entry until price moves above/below Hi or low MA
No trades inside gap. hope this helps clarify.
I will post a more complete chart when I have a little more time

Looking back at that post (#1219) I'm not sure why they aren't in color or at least the colors they are on my charts. HHmmm.

The trades are marked as they were traded just drug my trades to the charts
I guess I have deviated from the plan as outlined.. Thanks for snapping me back in line.
