I have also been thinking about your Range trader showing an alert that it is opening a basket but no trades appearing.

The most common cause of this is a mistake by the user when entering their MaximumSpread input. At the moment, there is no feedback when trades are not sent because of this, so a user error is not flagged up.

I have rearranged the code so that the max spread thingy is checked just before a trade is sent. This allows me to insert an alert when the individual trade is cancelled because of an unacceptable spread.

The downside of this is that users making a mistake here will be driven nuts by the alert, which will sound about 10 times a second until they shut down the robot. Mind, it will draw the mistake to their attention.

I haven't uploaded this yet, in case I think of something more to add. I will post it in time for market opening tomorrow. You will be able to confirm whether you have made a mistake with your setting; if not, we can look again at possible causes.

BTW Steve, I did manage to get a weak JPY basket out of Range on Friday and saw for myself that equivalent of 100 pips is optimal target AND the WAVE theory working out right in front of my eyes.
My basket went to 100 pips profit within 10 minutes ( when I had TP at 2500) and retraced it by 90 pips and then in another 10 minutes up again 100 pips to touch my TP ( which I had changed in the meanwhile).

You forgot about this little piece on last page. But here I have a problem which I created for myself by loading Range on 2 charts simultaneously G/J hourly and G/U 4 hourly(with 1440 TF checking of course). So when the trade was taken it showed up on both the charts. So I dont know now which TF took on the trade but I have a feeling it was 4 hourly G/U because the JP indies went down from 93 to 77 and retraced on that chart giving me that 2nd chance to reach my TP of 100 pips. Now I have taken the EA off from hourly and will try it only on 4 hourly for a day and see what happens.

Steve, I am a long time lurker, just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work you have put into this ea. I haven't been trading long enough to add any thing to the tread, but still just wanted to say thanks to those who have.

Glad you finally managed to make the bot work for you.

You could differentiate between different tf's by adding, say, a '4' to the 4H comment.

Can you post DC with 'autocalculate lot' and 'jump stop' working as soon as your convenience suits you? I am in love with DC and would like to try it on a live micro a/c.
Thank you for a wonderful bot. It has given me only 1 bad trade rest all in profit. It is for 5 digit broker. But I'll add the additional zeroes.

Maybe you can make out my settings by looking at this. They are mostly default only. JS and BE features are not working hence the request to Steve.
In last 24 hrs. I had 4 trades. 1 stopped out at 40+ pips. 3 are going on still with manually put TS.

p.s. I am keeping spread small to filter out outrageous NZD and CAD spreads.

You simply go to your ea properties (hit f7), then under the inputs tab you just hit save. Save it to your pc (typically goes in the /experts/presets dir). It will be named ***.set
it's just a txt file, and I believe this forum doesn't let you post them. So just rename this file to ***.txt and post it to the forum (same way you attach image files).

My Range trade went upto 235+ and started retracing so I immediately changed my TP to 2000. When the indies initialised profit was ABOVE $200 but EA didnt close the basket. It closed the basket only at 160 (JS). I wonder why?
If the EA doesn't trade modified TP but sticks to original settings then it should have closed the basket at 100 because I changed the TP of the same basket around +90 just to see how high this basket can go.
I hope I am making some kind of sense.
