As there are already different Trix versions from SwingMan, could we have your Trix also or at least a clue about its settings?
Or - SwingMans SuperTrix is adjustable, maybe we could just change its settings with your kind help?

Yes - that is what Trix is. Any other setting is not Trix. It may seem pedantic to the uninformed, but if you look at the mathematics behind Trix (Triple Exponential - speaks for itself!) you will see precisely why EMA is needed. It is to do with quadratic extrapolation of the polynomial fit minimisation.
Trust me - all I have on my chart is 12WMA and Trix. No "vedanta", no stoch bars, no MTF QQE, no "Uncle Tom Cobley and All". All are "indicator envy", as Edge puts it. A complete and utter waste of your time.
I spent over a year doing just this and got nowhere. Six weeks ago, I started focussing on the trading. And now you all see the result and are aghast.
All you need is Trix(3,E,E,E,C) or whatever SMs settings are. Then look carefully at what it is telling you.
Trix is far and away the most powerful indictor ever devised for time series analysis. The reasons are in R G Brown's book. It is provable mathematically. Almost everything else is voodoo, rat's entrails and astrology.
Big clue: Look at the divergence and the momentum.
Please note that I really do not want to divert effort from Edge's lesson plan. I would bet a week's winnings (not insignificant on my system!) that every person's chart is different. We all have our own little "wrinkle" that makes it our own. I have mine, you must find yours.
People are still howling for indicators with "arrows". How hard is it to see when a line has crossed zero, for heaven's sake? You don't need an arrow to point that out. Now we have scripts to open and close trades for you.
I have a sneaking feeling that folk are still too scared to push the button and want double-quadruple confirmation then a script to do it for them.
No gain without pain, guys. Please follow Edge's plan and you will be fine. I may have the title "Magic Girl" but I am not immortal, nor do I have supernatural powers. I just stopped "thinking to hard...."

i'm doing your same error...we want to trade this system every hour...but....in the rules of the first post...Edge says WHEN to trade better these signals...
If Edge trades only in those hours....i think that there is a reason...

It would be easier if you posted your charts so we can all see where you took your trades. I cannot match up your trades with my charts, therefore cannot suggest any ideas.
Nice work! I compared these results with my chart and found out that one key of your success has to be faster Trix...
For example, your short at 6.35 GMT was 10 minutes before the default Trix gave a signal.

As soon as I saw the discussion about MT4's Trix and the original (true Trix) I decided to edit the MQ4 and try that on my charts.
However, my true Trix only showed entry on G/U at 06:40 GMT 5 minutes before the standard MT4 Trix, rather than at 06:35 as Anne's trade results show.
I assume that this is due to different Brokers feeds.
To those asking for a True trix indicator I say:
1. Doesn't SwingMan's UltraSuperTrix give you that option - he appeared to be using that indi when he showed the comparisons of different Trix versions.
2. According to SwingMan's comparisons, a True Trix ( EMA of EMA of EMA) would usually give a signal one bar sooner - but that comes at a price of more bad signals.
I find arrows and change in colours of indicators an asset in my trading.
While Edge has provided us with a simple yet powerful system, he himself has an automated tool to trade on TS8. This is despite of only having two indicators to line up.
Some of us find SWINGMAN's fine tuning of basic indicators to visualise very useful. His humility and generosity is noted. His tone is humble and caters for traders from all walks of life despite is brilliance as a programmer.
Suggestions of MTF indicators are not necessary but useful for those who recognise the advantage of trading with the HIGHER TF. In fact NO INDICATORS ARE NECESSARY to trade only PA.
We are all on our own trading journey and exchange on these forums with ideas and indicators are helpful to some and not to others.
I feel the tone of some posts are not respectful.
Many of us have excelled in our own professions but dont have the need to mention our coffee breaks and off to the next meetings..... and etc .....

The default settings of smUltraSuperTRIX v1 are not ema of ema of ema but a combination of sma . This reduces many false signals. I agree!

Reasons for not trading past 08:30 GMT today on any Euro or GBP pairs:
Red News
1. at 08:30 GMT GBP CPI y/y
2. at 09:00 GMT German ZEW Economic Sentiment.
It is often safest to avoid trading a curreny during its Red News periods.

Sorry to tell but you a right. The original is very fast and yu get much more zerobreaks in the 5 min. timeframe . For me the old Trixie is smoother and better.
I really don t know whow TG get all the winners in the morning - looks like a secret for me, but the secret isn t the Original Trix.

I am appalled by this remark, Swingman. By NOT posting unnecessary indicators, TudorGirl is HELPING the forum. All everyone needs are the indicators on Post #1. Everything else is a distraction.
If you focussed a little more attention on your trading you might begin to approach her results.

Swingman has used the TRIX indicator from post#1 and made it more visual for other traders.
While TG was big on other forums...... and is fortunate to be a brilliant maths person and good at programming skills, she is the first to admit she is a new trader and learning to trade with the help of several other experienced traders to her good fortune.
Swingman's comments were just stating facts from the programming side of indicators of this forum.
There seems some tones which I do not get good vibes.
TG on this public forum of EDGE is just like any one os us. She is posting her good trading results but just that. If she is getting better results than the basic indicators and settings from post#1 and not sharing the different settings ... how is this useful to others on the forum...
Trying to hang a golden carrot on front of everyone and not sharing what she is doing differently and then followed by some smart remark or two.

She promised the moon in the last forum ,have not seen anything of that yet???

Look at my chart the trix has the "original settings". Maybe her Trix gets smoothed through the Renko Charts, this would be a possiblity, but i m not shure you can programm such a feature (Subsitute the close in the Trix formel through the Renko Close or high - something in this way). But back to trading in Edges way ....
