I am new here, I do feel though that politics should not be discussed unless participates are truly willing to be open, if we have closed minds about our chosen subject then it may just degenerate into a shouting match. That said, here are my 2Pips
I have had homes in a few places, one of them was Newzeland, note the politics there is no different than anywhere else. Most governments are reactive to their people needs, even the worst dictator cannot stay in power if he did not do so. I still hold that USA has the most entrenched belief in individual freedoms simply because their people believe it and will defend it, Europe to a great extent also and now Asia is beginning to follow.
I don’t believe the USA is going socialist (it’s not the same as communist BTW) and even if they were, look at Europe it isn’t all bad. President Obama is doing what any leader needs to do in a bad situation he is doing something. I don’t know if it the best things to do but I wish him success rather than failure.
Slow down and have think though the gov’t is doing what policemen or firemen do in major incidents they first try to control the immediate environment and then stop or slow down the damage, and when it’s over, they leave, they can’t control everyone and everything all the time besides they dont want too.
The major problem we have had was the removal of control in the Fanancial market,s this will now swung back the opposite way and there will be too much control. but it will balance out in the end.
However i dont think Boom and bust cycles are inevitable, they can be mitigated by some rules and a sharp eye on developments, I hope the gov’t keeps up their vigilance in this respect, for this is what we hope to achieve also by learning with FTI, is it not?
Freedom without discipline is slavery, as you become a slave to your every want and need, I strive to not be a slave…. even unto my beliefs.
