Whilst I don't wish to confuse anybody unnecessarily, the attached pic is worth a look as it provides a different perspective and clearly shows how I use the TG Indi. I dont use the TG Indi for entries or exits. Basically, I use the indicator to confirm daily directional bias. I only use the TG Indi on the 15min timeframe as shown. I like to see an unbroken set of coloured TG bars that have run for at least an hour if not longer, and then I wait for the Stoch to go OB or OS to time my entry. I use the standard Stochastic with settings of 5,3,3. Simple, straightforward and profitable. In addition, I only trade London and US sessions - not Asian.

Keep up doing good work all involved.
I'm going to keep an eye on this thread, as I'm busy testing FX50 system now and don't want to start with this one yet.

Good luck.

Hi

Was browing thru my arsenal of Pivot indicators and found this matching the auto pivot with addition of Middle Pivot points, its suitable for those who are conservative and to those who want to bank partial profits. These pivots point also play a important role, price action seems to respect them. So if anyone wishes to add , can do it.

Hi Nisha:
First of all thank for all of your work and your contribution to this and the original Paulus thread. Are you using this new pivot indicator or staying with the original? Also, do you have particular pairs you like to trade or a particular time of day. Thanks again for keeping this simple, follows with Paulus' desire for simple system.

Thanks
Jim

Hi:
Sorry forget to ask, are you using the original TG indicator or the new high sensitivity version.

Hello to all and thanks for the hard work. Amazing thread. Life circumstances only allow me to trade the Asian session. Does anyone have some sage advice how to trade this quirky market? Would 1 minute scalping be better than using 5 minute charts?
Thanks for the help.

Just trade the pullback you idiot!

Barney,

Here's one I really like. I gives many variables for start times and appearance. Enjoy.

In other threads I've read of various start times:

5pm Eastern Daylight Time
5pm Eastard Standard Time
Midnight Eastern Daylight Time
Midnight Easter Standard Time
3am Eastern Daylight Time
3am Eastern Standard Time
6am Eastern Daylight Time
6am Eastern Standard Time

Has anyone looked at other times to set the Pivot Start Time?

Question is in relationship to this thread.

I've observed that most trading systems call for either Midnight GMT (no std/dst used on GMT) or 5PM ET (close of NY market).

If you experiment with various times you will see that it makes a relatively small difference in pivot line placement.

If you observe PA around pivots you'll see that sometimes price respects the line and sometimes it doesn't.
DP gets the most respect, R's and S's next and mid pivots are most often unreliable.

Finally, if price needs 4+ attempts to break through a pivot the PA is often running out of energy with a lower likelihood
of reaching the next line. When I see PA blow through a pivot like it's not even there then I want to ride that pony.

Can anyone provide the mq4 file for the HG 0001a indicator?
Ignored
NO, Anne asked to left some mystery to a woman that is why SHE WILL NOT give a mq4 version, and pls respect it - her magnificent personality - her person which she really is giving us all she has the best and I think it's only a 1/zillion of her potential

Why ? just because this is her Will as a coder. Reasons are not important.

nisha,

i have tried this but still the pivots template does not come into the template drop down, would you know why this is
Ignored
Because there are TWO separated folders called INDICATORS.
and TWO templates inside MT4 folder as I suppose in Program Files.

The TPL file must be put in Templates folder in the MAIN mt4 folder.
The rest is in Experts/indicators/

Hope it will help.

The other problem I have is finding the entries. I can go back over my charts and see where the entry was but I never seem to see it at the precise moment a signal triggers. Has anyone found an alert to signal the correct entry point - the alerts I have occur too long after the event.
Ignored
AS it was originally told in Paulus thread: the entry is whne the price is close above/below the MagicTrend line or 14MA weighted close (as Edge suggested) / the HG STF is red/blue the same as MagicTrend Line.

I personally trade (as a trigger) only when the TrendLine starts falling or riding cause when it's flat it's useless entry cause there usually the price is bouncing from one side to another and probably is connected with Pivot point / consolidate before some nice move / waiting for economic announcement / the HydroVertocity indi of TG is confirming the signal in form of the same colour as HG S(ingle) T(ime) F(frame) indi. It also a good point for exit when it change the colour what is usually combined with flat TM line.

Look at the attachment. Of course I could hang with this nice ride to the next flat TM line, but my discipline doesnt let me do it
Result on 5m = 102 pips

Hakim, TrenMagic Indicator is not part of this strategy's chart set .... a modified (non-repainting) version of its code is included in TudorGirls' STF (Single Time Frame) HG0001a Indicator, which does not re-paint.

Nisha, should the Weekly Pivot, Sx, and Rx levels play a part in the decsion to enter a trade on lower TimeFrames (M5, M15, M30, H1) do you think?

Richard.
