It's for sure that you have to know a lot more than the trading platforms. I like how the ICTS platform work, but i dont find a reliable broker who used it... have you tried the ICTS platform live?

I have used GCI (requotes like hell) and avafx. But with ava, i become profitable constantly... and they simply kick me off, and closed my account without any explication.

there are rumors that a US broker will soon begin offering ICTS cause its NFA compliant and they need a platform with time running out as per new NFA rules

That sux, but their platform is sweet. I also like the fact that the makers of ICTS update it with new tools every year. So it's like a new toy to look forward to.
FXCM started with the ICTS platform themselves way back. Apparently there's a brokerage launching with both onshore and offshore solutions running the ICTS/ACTForex platform. I'm not sure of the name but I think I can find out.
I mention it because I was in barcelona recently and got talking to a guy in the hotel there and he was consulting to this firm on the liquidity side. This is what he claims, but as yet I haven't followed anything up:
These guys will supposedly run direct STP to a group of about a dozen top-tier fx banks. No ECN, no price manipulations, just executable direct-feed pricing with no dealing desk intervention so no slippage either, even during NFP releases etc, and because they're STP they'll welcome scalpers with open arms.
In my opinion the ICTS platform could do with a "look and feel" upgrade but there's no denying the quality of the execution. I think ACT's biggest problem is it allows licensees the freedom to manipulate pricing far too easily, hence the likes of GCI and the way they do business. If these new guys are the real deal on STP and they have no dealers, they might be worth keeping an eye out for.
By the way, this is my first post on FF. I apologise if it sounds like a half-assed sales pitch. That was not the intention, I'm merely the messenger and just relaying what I was told after I saw a link to this discussion.

I've been in touch with the guy I was discussing this with, and he's promised to let me know as soon as he gets the word, and I'll post it here as soon as I know.
I'm a small retail trader and I trade for another guy too, so tight spreads and genuine STP with no-one in the way made me sit up and take notice, so I'll certainly be staying on top of developments here.
By the way, don't you just hate trading during August??!!
