How about different GMT time ? I'm at GMT +7 how do I modify the indicator ?

FFCal calls a windows DLL to get your local GMT offset. If your time settings are correct on your machine, including daylight savings time, it should adjust to your timezone automatically.

After running several times in the news trap I use your indicator in the THV system and it works pretty good.

I realize this thread is not really active anymore, but I think my issue fits in here. It's related to the last post, also.
Maybe s.o. has an answer..


I also have the problem that historic news are shown at the wrong time in the chart (as vert. Line).
I live GMT+1 (currently +2(summertime)), and my broker is GMT +3.

E.g the news that occured at GMt 8:30, get drawn at 8:30 on my chart, but well that's the GMT time (which I can also read in the xml-file). It should be drawn at 11:30 on the chart (GMT +3).



Another thing:
Has anybody tweaked the code so I can view upcoming news in the chart, say, I see the Lines right from the current time?

Hmm this is an interesting indicator
Btw do we need special DLL to run this or the DLL already existed in windows' system32 or MT4 terminal?

Anybody has problems with past news and vertical lines being plotted on the wrong hours?

This is like broker vs. FF calander timezone issue I believe...

or may be because of Daylight Saving Time

No, i didn't modify anything in the indicator,
afterall i'm still confused about DST my self because i don't live in a country whos affected by DST

So i remove the indicator and read the calendar directly from FF site

May i know what Trading Platform/Terminal did you use Trk?
i don't thinx MT4 could have something like that

Unfortunately, the FF Cal doesn't support non-DST timezones.

If you live in a non-DST timezone, potentially as a work around, you could set your 5 minute alerts to 65 minutes during DST periods?

it is MT4 ...its a custom indy created for MT4.

You should not need to do anything; it calculates your local -> GMT offset automatically thru a DLL. But also, see next post.

Hello all:

Normally I do not follow this thread anymore, as I simply no longer have time to donate to this project. However, now I have made one small change, because I so often hear of people whose calendar times are off, usually by 60 minutes, and usually either because they live somewhere that does not change their clocks (use DST), or some other odd problem. Sometimes it is because their computer is not updated correctly to account for when the clocks get set back/forward (which was changed a few years ago).

FFCal uses a standard windows DLL function to determine what your local time offset is relative to GMT. If it is wrong, there is a 90% chance that something is wrong with your computer set up. But for those times when you just cannot solve the problem (and I know some of you have tried everything!), I have now added a setting called "OffsetHours", which defaults to zero. If necessary, you can change that to 1, or -1, or whatever you need to make the reported news times match up correctly with your local time.
