i've used several charting packages of which i can name esignal, ninja trader, and topgun software. topgun is the most advanced with technical analysis. ninja and esignal crash often. esignal loses data feeds much more often than anything else i've seen. oh and topgun uses esignal data. so if you look at my list of software it's all crap for one reason or another. then there is metatrader from IBFX which is solid. i'm not promoting ibfx at all. i don't really like them. i just use my old live account for my charting and it's awsome. tick charts are not the grail. i have used them on other packages and i still have them available to me. it's easier to see volume on 30 second or 1min charts because like finding a point in space you need three coordinates. time happens to be one in trading. the tick charts show a pretty wave formation when you look in retrospect. gold definately shows a great wave formation on tick charts. download a demo of ninja trader and get the tick charts out of your system.
It really is that easy.
