i tested another method that also provide me with daily 50 pips but it take more trades to get it. However, it seems to be a lot safer than the one i previously used. Even with days like April 17 2009 [start trading 0600 GMT+0] quite a ranging day after 0600 , I am still able to get my daily 50 pips but my previous method lost and cannot obtain 50.

pivot point acts like an entry and exit gates....so i am sure this strategy and specially inbuilt indicator must be working magically...


any ways i am looking forward to test this system from monday,will post my results to get better exposure to the system.

This is an excellent question. The three indicators are a complementary suite. Let me explain.

Indicators are all price filters. They can either:

(a) INTEGRATE - like a MA etc. These act as smoothers but introduce lag,

OR

(b) DIFFERENTIATE - like momentum. These introduce noise but have slightly leading properties.

All indicators fall into either one class or another. It is ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS to put more than one of each sort on a chart - they will just tell you the same thing. You see charts loaded up with MA, MACD, RSI etc and they all tell you the SAME THING!!

When Edge says that you only ever need two indicators, tirgger and confirmation, he is absolutely right - the mathematics supports his statement.

That is why the indicators were written as they are. On the other thread, folk have tried adding VQ, QQE, Forex Scalping, etc and then abandoned them when they realied that the TudorGirl suite already tells you EVERYTHING you need to know.

Paulus, Edge and several other experienced traders have said this on many occasions but no-one is listening!!

The TudorGirl suite has:

(1) TrendMagic - for determining MOVING STOPS,

(2) HG_0001a - a combined INTEGRATE/DIFFERENTIATE indy for ENTRIES. There is also HG_0001a_MTF for those who want to see the same thing on multiple time frames.

NOTE: Remember that the MTF indy can repaint (they all can due to the way MT handles them internally) but the STF DOES NOT REPAINT.

(3) Hydrodynamic Vorticity - a measure of turbulence to help with EXITS.

Paulus Classic setup uses TrendMagic and HG_0001a_MTF.

Edge has posted charts using HG_0001a and Vorticity.

Nisha is now suggesting HG_0001a and Pivots.

So....

You can use them how you like! But if you understand how they work individually, you will see how they can work together.

I'm glad that my micro-math brain has spotted the use of the indys to the right path...

I'm using it live (on another TF as I said in my PM) with some good results (actually using small positions, it's my "demo-trading" way)... so I'm very interested in the next weeks outcome...

Since it was almost the close of the weekend, i would not be taking this trade

If you ever want to take the trade, the risk to reward ratio was not in our favor, so best is to avoid such trades

if still the trade is to be taken, the Stop loss will be at the Daily Pivot area and Take Profit at the First Support or S1

Wow .. just when I thought this could not get any better.

I love using pivot points and often put them on smaller tf charts as they help keep the bigger picture in focus .. however adding them in with the Paulus TM+BB MACD indicators is pure genius.

I hope

Can't wait for Monday to get started ... (I only try new strategies in a micro account just in case ).

i would suggest u can go short with the indicator TP ps1 or u can wait for the PA to reach either side of the PP or Ps1 to wait for another fresh signal...

What I understood from the instructions is that you don't take the trade if price is between 2 pivots .. only when it is crossing a pivot upwards or downwards. With price inbetween like that, looks like it could go either way .. no real probability.... correct?

becase in chart i have posted Price in between DP and S1 means Below DP and above S1 so which one i have consider .. Price BelowDP or Above S1 ??

No problem, feel free to ask any question

The Price has to close above the Pivot point and the HG001 Indicator should be blue for us to take the trade, vice versa for short trade.

The trades i am mentioning are safer and very conservative.

yes this is what i thougt .. and for that i post the chart.

if we are right we .. better to make rule more clear ..
and insted of

we have to write

1. Price Crossing upwards a pivot point .

For conservative trades, its always safe to take once price loses above or below a pivot point as it can then become a support or resistance area.

For agressive trades, you can take the trade if its crossing the pivot point and the HG0001 indicator is also confirming that move.

I like the profoundly simple insights, that show us the high probablility of pips to trade multiple lots, and have low market exposure because we get out for the day.

This may have been answered, but I would you please do confirmation for certainty:

For entries... does it need to be the FIRST blue or red bar AFTER the price closes above or below a pivot...OR can the price be MORE THAN ONE candles or bars above or below when the indicator shows the first bar?

Likewise, can the price close on the FIRST candle or bar, just above or below any Pivot, with the indicator MORE THAN ONE bar into the blue or red?

1. which is *trigger*
2. which is *confirmation*

...or is there some interplay?

I think this point is VERY IMPORTANT!

The original rules could be misinterpreted easily. Wed is right when he says CROSSING up/down, not CLOSING.

If the price is between two pivot points, it could go either way. As the price approaches a pivot, it may bounce off or go thru.

We must WAIT and see, then take the trade ONLY if HG_0001a agrees! This should be a very safe trade but we need to test carefully.

Hi, TG......Great job on your trading system. I use metatrader demo to test theories, but trade live on TradeStation. Is there any way to trade your system on TradeStation?

often times price will come back to pivot point for a retest,when this happens be SURE it holds pivot before you enter. just some freindly words of advice

one more thing,when trading pivots after 8am e.s.t.switch to reg session I.E us time frame;this will change your pivot points.They will be far more accurate then beacause PITT traders use us session. Hope this was helpful
