you don't hear a lot about women traders cause they're busy making money and don't care much for fame.

I just want to point out Im not sexist, im not saying men are better at trading than women, im just saying that there are hardly any succesful women traders in the history of trading.
Economists have forecast 9 out of the last 5 recessions

anyway, soo much nice conversation here, and i want to exaggerate, saying what i think is a big truth:

It is not about men or women, the thing is, that 99% of "traders" really don't understand a s**t of the market, some of them have profit because of lucky and/or good money management, but at this point it really doesn't make a difference if we are men or women... it's a jungle!!!

Yes that would be nice to have a division between guysview/galsview, but what i wasn't liking is that the division is between guysview/guysview, some define gals as the greatest traders in the world, some other define as failed traders, it really doesn't make any sense, realle non-sense

estimating here hugely :-

Likely 10% of males trade something or would like to.
Likely only 2% of woman trade.

The difference is though :-

2% of the men are profitable.
80% of the woman are likely profitable,


Trading doesn't interest woman like it does men and woman will either crack it and trade or give up, where as men as more stubborn and will keep going for ever and ever.

I know of more profitable Female traders then I know of males, despite the lack of them.
Nothing to it, but to do it!!! Stick to the plan FOOL!!!!

How are you getting these figures? Can you post the link to the study? If this just your estimate then what is it based on? Have you worked with 1000's of traders?

women dont have much testestorone as men do ( a step a head of us). the question is where much testestorone can affect your trading.( it just natural to men that they tend to conquer the market and you know where it lead most of them

As Said Estimated HUGELY, used to have a good stock trading Yahoo Club AGES ago, 20% female was about right from memory, I know 1 of them is still trading stocks and profitable doing well, none of the blokes are trading as far I'm aware still. Including me haven't traded Stocks in 7years SCAREY!!

I've got a Ex who 6years back was up 42K UK, trading UK stocks and as far I'm aware she's still making money, but dunno how much.

Woman have a much higher success rate than men sadly for us

Anyone who questions whether women are great traders needs to have their head examined. I know they are, otherwise Bloomberg TV wouldn't have so many HOT SEXY women hosting and anchoring their shows. There's even one show hosted by Haslinda Amin, a woman, called,........drum roll please................ "The Trade."

That's probably true for the vast majority, but there are exceptions.

I borrowed Grace Cheng's book from a guy at our local TA group. Personally, I'd rate it as more interesting and to-the-point than other books I've read by more renowned authors. But I won't be signing up for her mentorship course, LOL.

Anyway, in keeping with the thread topic, here's another well-known woman trader (and author): Kathy Lien.

The women versus man debate...love this topic. I know the difference first hand.

Women are more PATIENT. Unless an entry is perfect...the woman in general will not bother with that trade.

Men are more IMPULSIVE. We go by the mentality...willing to lose a trade aka battle to win the overall war therefore we are willing to place far more trades then women are.

In the end when it comes to profitable traders...it makes no difference whether it is man or woman...it is just the approach that is different.


Now lets say you have a man with woman qualities...that is an entirely different story
