It is a good system, but not so much during strong trends.

Yes, Good4Nothing, this is a modified Inside Bar system.

Hi all,

I am rather new here.
I like Paulus strategy 'cos it is easy and indicator free.

Having back tested 2 pairs i.e. USDJPY and EURUSD and found that success rate is only about 50%. It can be used for 15m also.

If only we can find a way to filter out those bad trades!

Paulus, would you mind to tell us your success rate so far using this system?

I'm kinda having fun coding EA's theese days..so i coded this simple system into an EA..i did a backtest on eurusd and i doesnt seem to do badly.

My EA is set after the initial rules posted in this thread (plus 3 time filters), i have not followed the rest of it, but i'm willing to make the EA evolve if i receive ideas on how to do so. I would really like to keep this as naked as possible, suggestions NOT involving indicators will have priority (except stroke of genius obviously )

Also one MAJOR flaw is that i'm not sure if my EA is plottable on multiple charts at one time. I coded a simple magic number cycle but havent checked if it actually works or not, so dont panic if it doesnt..the rest of the EA however should do fine.

Very interesting system...on another of your fertile mind threads you mentioned that you are successfully making profits on 2 of your trading systems. Is this one of the two? Could you disclose which ones you are currently actively trading?

The US break not posted yet but will be

the new thread with the Trend Magic Indicator

and 1more which again I havnt posted yet this has to be traded in small lots as the stops are large but so are the profits for example 1st trade today on EURGBP lost $648 but the 2nd trade made or should I say is still in currently at +$2448

Big numbers but RR of 4;1

I have others but need time spent on them

I have scanned the last couple days on e/u and noticed barely any setups on EURUSD according the the 1st post system rules.

I'm sorry to say it won't work in the long run.
Candlestick formations should be a "trigger" after a pattern sets the path.
By itself a candle formation doesn't work. Even statistically, we can't use a specific candle formation because the take profit is different every time and should be used with a good risk reward ratio.

Paulus:
You can use your incredible gift of finding patterns in a "indicator free" series of systems. I've followed your systems since the Keltner's (back in the ExpatXXXX's days), and as a big fan I think you should try it.
