ES - Great explanation of your addto rules... but how do you determine a "chop" environment? Do you have set rules to identify? By defition, by the time you indentify it as such, it has already been going on for X amount of time, which would have been better served reinvesting interest. I am curious to see the way our models will diverge in the long term in terms of DD, yield, and # of margin calls (heh I think I know who will win that dubious honor).
Quoting ElectricSavantDislikedLol Iso...
Tell Jim to take it easy most of the views ansd posts are me...haha There are a few hedgers migrating over here to check it out though...This is a specialty group and I think that I can contribute something unique to the PF.
Iso I know about the spreadsheet thing, but I use it for myself and I do not have time to duplicate it many times, that would leave room for error. Believe me the last thing that I need is another spreadsheet to fill out. Wifey helps me with research spreadsheets and I fill the published ones out personally.
The underlying hedging calculations are needed and should be included in Cash & Carry Light. They are the "working" part of the spreadsheet and are needed to tell the subscriber what the base exposure factor is and how many units to put in each pair on the "add to's"
The Charts do not need to be updated or the power of compounding tab, unless there are real dedicated ones that can use the information to their benefit. I find the ones that are the most successful with the spreadsheet are the ones that phone me. Just a few....naturally, i would never reveal who they are, I would let them do that.
The Oanda tutorial is in the phone call...but Iso you have a good idea, I will post a screen shot of the user preference tab in the PF.
Iso I have vowed never to post what I do not know and what sounds good, but rather what I have found out for myself and have traded. Why would I expect anybody to trade my stuff, if I did not have my own money on the line?
I prefer set ups that are far a few between but I can watch many pair...all 33 of them lol...i have not traded directionally however for in over a year....but everything that I have shared I have traded. I traded Futures professionally for a short stint as a CTA and I have carried over some of my experience to Forex. I find Forex to have stronger trends.
