Hard to explain, but no.
But i have big spread in the dow market, i don't trade dow often.

This is my "view"

there are 2 divs, there are only pinbars missing.
These 2 setups with pin would be best.

Okay I have a few min so I will put up what I added to the mix.... Nothing lol, it works and has for over 9 years when I traded it over the 3min spoos years ago. I will put up some other PA that may help you get a few more trades...

I see you are pretty much using . . THV stuff, lets see whats there -

That Coral thing, not using the trix, not using the cloud . . .
That trend thing down the bottem.

Just wondering why you gave up on using the 21ema and 50sma combination and you used the THV stuff instead ?

I tried out the THV stuff for a while but did not like how . . . "Smooth" the coral was or something . . .


Also could you expound on your use of Bollinger Bands ?

You can use THV, RSI, MACD, really anything and it will all show a divergence of some sort. Volume leads price and MA's RSI MACD etc follow price. To be honest I can trade now with ONLY price and do fine because you know when you get a spike it's hitting the BB and you know what RSI will look like. I use the BB to show me extremes in the market. When the BB are flat so is the market, when the Mid BB keep price down or up I know we are in a trending market and I want to get into that trend off of a pullback as well as if we have so PA such as a PB or something to show it's a good trade.

In the past I said trading is like playing cards, you want a good hand if your hand sucks PASS dont trade because you want something to do, walk away, if it works oh well just stick it out. What I do is every Friday or Saturday I print out all my trades and all the charts and go over them to make sure I did not miss anything or if I screwed up or not, plus it always helps to get better at looking the way the market moves. I have traded I bet over 10-12 different ways and they all make money. It's like driving a car really, some are different then others but if you can drive one you understand how it works just as a so called "System".

Post up some charts you had problems with and I will try to help, to be honest 60% of it is sticking it out and having a correct stop in place, most ppl rush trades and have way to tight of a stop. What I have been doing is going 25 stop 20-25 targer to close it out at, now this changes sometimes I have to run a 30-35 point stop to make sure I am below the last low but if I am with the trend I am about 70+% right so it works out, I goto cost +15 most of the time. What I want to get to do is be able to trail it better but I am still working on that part

Thanks for the answers above,

I am fine at trading the Daily, 4HR and 1HR. But 5Min is a different beast altogether imho, I am way more patient and my rules for entry and exit are way stricter simply because I am seeing an increased physical number of candles - if you get me.

The main problems with the 5min are actually not from an analysis standpoint though, if you are with the trend it's all about finding setups that work and exploiting it over and over again.

However, the problems I really find are -

The time you have to spend, requotes, etc etc

How much time do you actually spend trading a day bro ?



Also here is an idea about trailing stuff (If this suited you), Volatility based trailing stop ? (If you have not tried it before) Maybe -

Countertrend - Set TP target
With Trend - Trailing Stop ?

This is an idea I have been toying with.

Trend defined by the 1HR -

21ema
50sma

1HR 21ema = 5min 252ema
1HR 50sma = 5min 600sma

If the 252 is above the 600 then trend is up etc.


Entries on the 5Min - Usual candlestick stuff.

Trailing - Anything with the trend is trailed, anything against the trend is TP set.

You could just keep adding with the trend . . .

Thoughts Ryan ?

I Like this simple setup you have. I spent some time researching and found a fx5 MACD divergence indicator that some one had started to convert the program to use RSI, but it had some bugs in it. I fixed the bugs and added a input to allow you to turn the Hidden/Reverse divergence off if you want to. I also improved the alert code and the Object clear code to clean up after itself. I left the copyright to the original author

I set the Period to 6 as the default. I have been using it for a few days and it is pretty good and might help if you are following a few pairs.

I am posting it and hope it will be of some help.

BTW it is not a perfect as spotting divergence with your eye, (no indicator is ever as good as an experienced trader). However, I think it could be of service.

Can you please explain the bollinger bands and it's significance?
Also,what do you do in a ranging market?
What are the exact settings for the MA's?

System looks gr8!I will combine it with my 5 min system.

It's simple - you need to know where is trend going and just wait for pin bar.
in flat market, pin div works great too.

Usually 5Min, works on every timeframe really.

Look at the lowest low from your chart, and the recent high right to the left. Clear divergence there and a decent tail. I think that is the only decent trade I see on that chart? Not sure, still learning too!
