Just got back from quick trip to shops. This is eactly the kind of trade system gives good signals with. See lh on 5 min chart. The solid line on 1 min shows close of 5 min candle. A couple of chance to enter are shown with arrows.

I adjusted this version so that the histogram bars only trigger if the price Close value is also greater than the 5 ema shift 3, for a long, and vice versa for shorts. Looking at today on EU, there is very little difference from the original version. 95% of the time, the price action that is sufficient to trigger the turn, is also sufficient to get the close price over the 5 ema.

This is a great thread and thanks for your continued postings. What is Frankies hour? (the hour before London open, when Frankfurt is open? ie, 09:00 to 10;00 on FxPro charts?)
And where can we find details of Islanders strategy?

Frankies hour is now so yes 9-10 on fxpro charts, the hour before LO. It does go back an hour when time change kicks in again in a few months time.

Islander posts on the psych levels pivots and tl thread http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=98028 he tends to be quieter in summer time due to other commitments but theres loads of posts there going back a long time.

Can you pls confirm it looks like v2 is giving a signal at the opening of the next candle following all 3 crossing, is that correct?

Now one final request if I may. I am trying to make sure I have the correct Pivots and Pivot Points Multitimeframe settings. Any chance you could post a current Eur/Jpy chart, and I'll adjust my settings to match yours ( I only trade the European/London session for the first 2/3 hours). Thanks once more.

I think its one of those is it crossing etc etc and open of next candle has moved on that micro amount to confirm.

Version 2 gives

 

  1. a long histogram bar for the first bar that closes above the 5 ema shift 3 when all 3 indicators line up
  2. a short histogram bar for the first bar that closes below the 5 ema shift 3 when all 3 indicators line up.

However, to err is human, so if there is an instance of that logic not being followed, do post the picture so I can adjust things.

I have found that I prefer the original version as the alternating bands of colour give a better view of the ebbs and flows as price moves along.

Thanks we'll have a think about which 1 we use. I tend to favour fewer signals but for those that count.

We tend to stay away from gu on the biggest of news days like MPC.

Ej red line that shows the close of the 5 min hl candle which was a biggie 35 odd pips with good volume.

2 trades, first taken when we went above signal candle with an exit just below M pivot. 2nd trade, we did discuss because of good move up whether to enter the previous candle to the 1 shown but decided to stick to system. Didn't follow though exit BE.

No more trading for us until after MPC.

Gu for what its worth.

Again red line shows the close of the 5 min hl. Next 1 min signal highlighted shows another good opportunity.

1st 1 min entry after a 5 min lh/hl is the best trade for us.

5 min shows the hl, first of (early) US session. The red line on 1 min shows close of 5 min candle and then highlighted the first confirmed move i.e. signal that moves on a pip.

Just showing the mirror trade on ej. 5 min shows the hl of early US session. 1 min red line shows the close of 5 min candle and the two immediate chance to enter from 1 min.

Ej 2 trades. 5 min chart shows the hl. 1 min shows first signal after 5 min hl has closed. We did another re-entry trade which was a loser, we debated the shooting star inverted hammer on 5 min before the 2nd trade. We were a little worried but obviously not enough.

I've added 5 min candles before re-entry trades to my trade notes to see if theres a pattern i.e. how common are failed re-entries if certain 5 min candle featuring. On first trade we want to see our required hl/lh/dble top/bottom pattern on 5 min chart first.
