Looks pretty good. Took a quick glance and it seems to encompass and expand on some of the MTM ideas. It's definitely a lighter read with lots of breakdowns and such, but a nice addition to this essential thread.

Thanks to all the contributors, especially the founding few that began the VSA exposé.

I used his explosion indi with my core system before finding VSA. It may still prove useful on quicker trades.

Thanks very much for your dissertation on VSA - it along with the other similar posts has got me thinking differently (outside-the-indicator-box). Unfortunately, I have yet to wrap my wits around the meaning of the colors on two of the VSA/VSH indis I have.
One has individual multicolored bars green/red/orange (VSA Histo MTF) and the other has solid color bars of blue/red/yellow /white (Better Volume 1.4). I would be ever-so-grateful, if someone would divulge a "legend" or two. I am sure I will figure it out at some point, but having it available now would make my paradigm shift so much easier.

BTW, I think I have figured out something key to my trading.
Emotion and greed being our 2 worst enemies, led me to analyze my least/most emotional/greedy trades.
MY MOST SUCCESSSFUL trades were all placed on a longer time frame and I barely consulted the 15 min or less chart! The opposite is big time true!
This is key for me as I do NOT want to be glued to my computer and become neurotic about "market noise".
I have some rules that now incorporate that principle - anyone interested just ask and I will post them.

Ok, any more is a book - later.

Hi and welcome. Ditch the VSA histo and just use BV 1.4 There is a usage guide posted on first post. There is an updated usage guide posted in the last couple of pages as well. I'll get the links corrected on first post this weekend. To get into chat simply goto http://vsa.pipbuilders.com

Hi Recycleking, you may also want to check out the "volume based on price close" indicator. If price closed higher, the volume bar will print green, if price finished lower, the volume bar will print red. Simple and clean. The volume speaks for itself, I don't think you need a bar to be painted white or orange or yellow to tell you it could be stopping volume, or it could be continuation, or it could be... imo these things do more to hinder than help, but to each his own.

Thank you for your update of the post 1, but also is it possible you do an official template? , perhaps the one you use, and then to follow some your trades to have a better understanding.
I have been reading your thread, but it hasn’t been easy to understand the system. The indicators you explain in first post actually nobody is using them; every body works with different VSA indicators in different TF.

Sorry for my poor English
I will update the first post with my template including indicators and settings shortly.

I use BV1.4 for volume (I don't use painted bars version), Grath's MML indi (in first post), and a simple MA (50) on m5

I also use information indi for magnified price and other info, ffcal for upcoming news events, and a market/sessions clock.

I use D1 and H1 for likely direction, and m5 for entries.

If you'd like to follow trades I recommend joining the live chat as you can see people discussing trades in realtime.

The first post has been updated with a "template" section.

I have posted a zip which includes the template and all indicators I use.

You will most likely need to update clock settings and perhaps need the non 5 deci version of "information" (just let me know)
