I'm new to Metatrader as a platform, so sorry if this is a very simple question:

Is there any way to program a trade with a predetermined stop loss and take profit? I scalp with a 10 pip TP, 20 pip SL, but I must be quick to enter trades using my method. I'm having to manually enter the TP and SL each time, and it is tedious, and not fitting in well with my lazy nature.

Is there a way to preprogram a trade and attach it to a "Hot Button" or something to execute the trade instantly with these parameters?

Hi there,

One way might be to use a script such as the ones I have attached. One is for Buy orders and the other for Sell orders as the names indicate. Just open them, set the lot size, TP and SL you wish and save them in your Experts/Scripts folder. Then all you have to do is drag the appropriate script onto your chart and the rest is history. I have not used them but they should be fine. Test them on a demo first though.

Right click on the script in Metatrader and click "Set Hotkey" then you can set hotkeys for those trades.

Does this script still work in MT4? It is exactly what I have been looking for but I an unable to make it work. Followed the instructions to the letter as far as I can tell though.

I should be more specific.

Copied files as instructed, they appear in scripts (also tried to put them in indicators folder where they then appear under indicators in console).

They are in the left hand menus as you would expect, but dragging/dropping over chart does nothing. They do not appear in indicators or scripts lists, and they have no effect when you try to open a trade.

I have also right clicked, selected attach to a chart with no luck.

I am trying to use them on the FXCM MT4 software
What does the 'experts' tab at the bottom say?
The experts tab on side menu? If so it does not appear there, just MACD and Moving Average.

I have tried both the scripts and the indicators folder, and also turned on EA's in settings.

In the settings I have a tab for enable Expert Advisors, next to that is says except for custom indicators and scripts (with no option to enable these).

I don't remember seeing that in other trading platforms, though my memory could be flawed.

Is it possible the FXCM will not allow EAs? Which I assume this would be counted as by the software?
It is loaded, then gets removed straight away. Looks like the software is blocking it. Possibly for the reasons I assumed above.

Do you have any idea if I am right about FXCM blocking EAs? I searched google and found plenty of references to people running EAs on that platform so I am not sure.

Would it be possible for someone to look at the settings in their MT4 client and see if they see this:
