Trades on the left and right are valid signals. The middle trade not as macd histo not turned red. Just shown for illustration was a little close to US news so I was out.

"colored macd " for Interbank fx trader 4 system.

That way were on all the same page!

I look for 3 things really candles (www.candlesticker.com), volume and I have a 20 ema this approximates the 50 line on RSI.

Purely as a general rule if above the ema (and therefore above 50 on RSI) I'd prefer to be buying than selling. Until I get a good reason to reverse, i.e. a good reversal candle see the hammer 1 on left of chart.

Hammer marked 2 closing above the ema a good reason to look long again.

The down candle marked 3 has less volume (admittedly in Asian session) so its not conclusive and could go either way. There followed a couple of shooting stars with better volume and they had higher closes. This suggested down but again nothing conclusive so I stayed out.

A candle closing above/below the recent range is for me also a very good signal in and around London/Frankfurt opens, see candle marked 4. A couple of easy trades followed as shown above.

This is not a system for trading ranges.

So on candles I'm looking for clear reversals like hammers/shooting stars. Also closes above/below the recent range around FO and LO with better volume.

If there is also divergence on macd histogram great.

I have attached the pattern recognition indi and divergence indi I use. Just overlay the divergence indi onto the nxMacd.

I use fxpro and gain capital. I have as standard a 3 pip max deviation loaded so requotes are not bad. The good thing is if you do miss theres normally another entry not that far away.

Nice to see you here. Thanks for your simple 34 ema idea.

Yeah I know on the squiggles but they are pretty effective. Will post some charts later but another very good morning.

I've been doing some gj watching. I usually stayed away due to the volatility but this system seems to be effective so far, will be watching some more.

The trades on the left and right are valid entries as price carries on 1 pip. The middle is not a valid entry as price does not carry on 1 pip to confirm.

Not showing Mrs V this one she'll poke me with a sharp stick. Was posting here and not watching eu, missed out.

Two nice valid trades. There appears to have been a signal 4 candles to left of first highlighted trade, it didn't go lower so never confirmed.

Heres another eu example.

The trade on the left is OK all line up.

The middle and right trade, based on pa look like they might be OK. The middle trade, stoch does not confirm its going up and on last trade macd does not confirm staying green.

Am confused about this 2 pivot indicators. I mean how to go about the settings because i use Alpari Uk. S o am having problem about the settings.

Hi realpips

No problem ask away if you need to in future.

First the pivot indi. You can amend the start time for the daily pivots to get best from UK session. Here you have to just play with the local time setting to get this right. I use fxpro and have start time for pivot calc at 2am on that platform, I don't know what time for Alpari. I'd suggest you download a fxpro demo to make sure. These pivots work so well I think its worth the time to do.

I also have the show high low open set to true, this shows the open and previous days high and low. I have mid pivots set to true and the fibos also. The fibs show the 38, 50 and 62 of previous days range.

Pivot points multitimeframe. I have mid pivots on true as well as weekly and monthly to true. Fhr and daily false. Period is 1440 on hourly, 5 min and 1 min.

As Robdee on force5 thread is also saying lately the weekly pivots are really important and its amazing how accurate they are.

For example if gbp is getting close to its daily typical range a weekly pivot is a pretty good place to exit all positions.

All I can say for me is that the above combo of pivots and settings works really well.

For what its worth these threads are ones that I like and give a combo of getting something out of indi's and pa. Have a look at, in no particular order:

Psych levels pivots and trendlines revisited
Force 5 system
Trade using VSA
Higher Low Lower High

There are no doubt tons of other good ones around (like Jackos forex house of P and P) but these are ones that I have stuck with. I still use higher low lower high but will be posting entries here.

A question if I may? When you get either a buy or sell signal you wait for the next candle to go one pip above below for the entry.
If this is not achieved on the next candle do you abandon that signal and wait for the next set up.
Also with stotch would you abandon the entry if it is at or near 80 for a buy or 20 for a sell.
