Nice to see you again also. No retirement from trading, but the thread was wearing me a little thin. I have made a few post occasionally in some other strategies that I am having fun testing.

Making some very nice profits from several of them to say the least.

Hope all is well with you, I am looking forward to when you start your thread so I can come hang out with ya.

Too bad the infraction cost him two weeks, that is more time than most criminals get in California when they break the law.

We will be waiting for Itme to return, if I was him, I would go to a new site.

But that is for him to decide.

Hmmmmmmmm, notice his slogan has been changed. Itme's posting priviledges were suspended by management after all. Still can't find a post that warrants suspension and if that isn't bad enough... what they originally put under his name was pretty sick and slanderous. I think I'm to spend time elsewhere. Good trading.

Actually, I think that putting that slogan under Itme's name was not at all funny, and whoever did it should be banned from the site (Merlin? hope you are reading this....) - pretty poor taste, and slanderous to Itme to boot. (At least it has now been removed - or at least changed.) I didn't pick up any particularly anti-American sentiments from Itme's posts, just some intelligent and well-articulated opinions and all related to economic stuff. Itme has always been very respectful of other people's opinions too, even when disagreeing - doesn't deserve that sort of abusive treatment, even if a ban were justified. FF is a high quality forum overall, but the quality will go down pretty quickly if senior members such as Itme are banned or discouraged from posting.

I seem as confused as the others as to where and what you find so offensive in terms of spreading his political agenda. IMO what is "bullshit" is that someone can't express their right to freedom of speech, regardless of the site, as long as it isn't directly harming anyone, what's wrong with expressing oneself, if someone does not agree, state it so or just don't look at this thread. Unless I am reading something wrong here, I think your moderating muscle has discredited this forum and hurt the traders here as a whole rather than improved the forum. Itme is without a doubt, one of the most valuable contributors to this forum for both newbies and longer term members, his input during suspension will be sorely missed, and I for one hope he does return, for the benefit of this venue.

Please shed some light on to what it is that you find so offensive, so in the future, we all have some idea as to what our limitations are towards freedom of speech within the FF.

We have the right to free speech but if we say something offensive to someone in their house they have the right to ask us to leave. This is Merlin's "house". Just my extremely humble opinion.

i really dont want to get into defending this decision but i will make this one last post. itme has wasted enough of my time over the past few months with his bullshit, starting from day 1 with his thread on how we was going to make a trillion dollars. his threads are always ending up getting moved to the members lounge because they are politically charged. he hates the USA and he cant help but spew his hatred. any for those who think i am biased for the USA, let me tell you we have banned MANY americans for having strong bias against muslims because they just cant shut up about it. and they were less hateful than itme!! this is not a politics forum. for those that feel god is on their side, there are plenty of forums out there. i have warned itme (in this thread where he accuses FF of some kind of conspiracy) to stick to trading but he cant do it. the last string of posts he is trying to get his jabs in to the USA by pretending to talk about trading. for those who dont see them, here is a list (mind you, these threads started in the forex discussion, but had to be moved to members lounge because of itme's lack of trading focus). anyway, enough said. i really dont have another minute to waste on this guy.

My understanding on most boards is that the rules are whatever the moderators say they are so I certainly wouldn't ask a moderator to defend his/her action. But could some other more experienced member explain to me what rule is violated by these posts? I don't want to "get on the wrong side of the law" here.

Other than the last, which seems to be a bit inflammatory, most of the posts discuss political situations and how those might affect currency prices. Perhaps I am missing something here.

huh? i find it extremely offensive when someone talks about my motherland like that! i have to bite my tounge on many of his posts because i wont get into a political debate on FF, thats is not what FF is about.

and btw, it was his last post that got the infraction. it was a 15 point infraction, not a severe one. but since he had a prior infraction (for the same thing, rule 2 violation) it added to 30 and blocked his posts for two weeks. thats how the system works...

I'm just upset that Itmes right about our country. But I agree with merlin that this isn't the best forum for some of his posts about the shadier side of our country. But since they were in the member's area, and the thread's title included the words, (Politics/Religion), I don't see what the problem is. But then Itme can get carried away with his words....so idk...he's just a very very passionate person lol. And actually, I'm fairly convinced Itme is a she. But that's for another thread. lol

Hmmm, very interesting posts, and some heated opinions. But I don't see any of that as spreading USA hate - the US Government is not the USA - and nothing to get offended about unless one identifies strongly with Bush et al. But then, I am not American, so maybe my opinion on this doesn't count. True, the moderators have the right to set the rules and enforce them, and them's the rules. But Merlin, you seem to be taking this all very personally, and I still think that adding that slogan about "spreading USA hate wherever I go" was nastier than anything Itme said.
