You may like to use this CCI divergence indicator which alerts you to and plots CCI divergence. May just make life easier.

@Jankone - Would the last trade (The blue one) been a no trade with your methodology ?

EDIT - I presume the pins have to be at opposite ends of the BB's ?

2ND EDIT - Whats up with the MA's on your chart ? They are for the "trend definition" Maybe ?

I wish you all the best with this thread Jankone!

I will start following it for sure as I come from the scalping environment where the tons of different indi's killed me. Price Action is the way to go, even in scalping IMO.

For all you guys who are wondering what he is doing I have attached 2 PDF files which will explain the pinbar. For more info on that check the J16 thread, there you will read about it on almost every page.

Oops sorry, that was a cci divergence indicator I posted earlier.

This is the RSI divergence indicator.


First of all we attach the ind_RSIColored_v1, then move the ind_DivPeakTroughRSI_SW_v1 to the same window using the mouse.

After some (A LOT, in fact) "screen time" the right PBs will be screaming at you

Key things are: identify the current trend for your TF and one or two above, then watch out for a PB being formed AGAINST the trend. Keep an eye on Bollinger Bands and RSI div as an extra clue.

Repeat 1000 times. On 1001st time you will do it semi-blindfolded

How do you decide to take the trade without being able to see the divergence which has not yet emerged at point (B) on both PRICE & RSI ?

You take the trade after the divergence has formed at point B on price and RSI

Jankone meant B as the entry point. He simply showed that divergence occured when measured between Point A and Point B.

Just could not get my head around that chart as there is no trade on it.

So, he took the SHORT at the divergence point A as in my example here?

I just read the PDF and realized I knew NOTHING about pin bars other than them being like a Jack Hammer thumping out hard ground for a base.

It's hard to say, sometimes can be 1-3, sometimes 0 and i dont trade 1-2 days... :-)

I use sma 50 and ema 21, some posts later, I will explain how to trade with MA .:-)

1) there is no div, but nice pin
2) there is no div too, but nice pin too
3) no trade probably

Check my trades with divergence
It's a rule, if you want to trade againts trade YOU HAVE TO TRADE WITH DIVERGENCE OR YOUR ACC WILL BLOW
