Ive been looking for No loss settings for some of the bigger movers. The basic Idea is that given the essence of this EA and the Idea behind it we should be able to change the settings so that it works in every possible situation.

The graph attached shows results for EUR/JPY back tested (I know) using over 2 years historical data.

No Losses, biggest draw down 13%. Return on initial balance 67% or a bit over 30% pa. I'm not looking...
I am testing something similar and having good results with it. Use only 4 levels at 200 apart 1100 SL. Hitting around 87% win ratio but I manually close all my trades. This is live trading not a demo. Stop loss at 1100 is less than 60 bucks on a penny.

I see several guys using similar concepts I am testing. I am using a 4H chart though because I can see much better the price action over several weeks. Try your lines on 4H and let me know what you think. I am running all sessions and only not trade interest rate statement. I turn EA back on the next trading session.

Hi, I have just started using this EA last week.

It is a great system.

Can I know what is H_Level & L_Level in the system?
Cos I am using alpari & it is a 5 digit. Do I have to change the value 90 & 10 to 900 & 100 respectively?

second week results on my demo account was better than first week...
a 1000$ account attends 1937$ till now ...with 3 open positions now.... i think this week's close balance is over 2000$

can I control the timing i.e. only trade in asian session? (EA stop trading automatically?!)

I agree about the 4hr charts. I keep trying to lose on the 5m charts with the 5 pairs I'm trading. Just lost a usd/chf (-468) but I'm still +700 for the couple days since opening this lastest demo. It just keeps grinding out the profits. Interest news and NFP are death to this ea especially with my reduced tp, sl, and step. SNB Governing Board Chairman Jean-Pierre Roth just spoke about interest rates concerning chf and I lose on usd/chf. Still testing and will keep you informed....Dan

Yeah footy thats the 4 majors I would like to trade. FYI and others if you click on the chart I posted it enlarges and you are able to read the charts bar. I let this ea run 24/5 except for the interest news and NFP. I have not adjusted the sessions area in the ea yet. Has anyone? Trading thru the Asian and European session and forgetting the NY session could be a good thing....

Qz10cq are you trading 0.10 lots on your demo because it doesn't allow you to use something smaller, using IBFX 5th decimal demo?

No I could trade smaller lots with the 5 digit IBFX. To update: both my chf EA's lost this morning so my profit of +1000 is now +100. Bob has said several times to not trade thru interest news.

Qz10cq just to make sure you are still using the 80ma? Or did you change it?

Don't be pressed, QZ. Your setting is of great potential. I backtested it quite many times.

as i mentioned before, your setting seems to need to avoid euro/NY session. your setting is great for leading to more entries, and smaller loss compared to Bob's original. However, during euro/NY session, a storm goes thru 200 pips without a lookback is too frequently seen. note that Asian time has no big news, 99% of time. this is another reason that I recommend this. btw, backtest shows it is profitable only trading Asian.


another thing is that i found in 2009, xxxjpy tend to be trendy instead of ranging as to intraday trading. so xxxjpy often end-up losing using your settings. but ur setting is great to xxxusd or cross pairs

The 100/40 EA follows the 2MA. Trades are triggered when the 1MA (median) crosses the 2MA. I started Oct.26th with a $3000 demo and have traded it up to $4500 with these settings- .02 lots, max. trades 15, mult. 1.5 no stop loss. I've seen Ea go as many as 12 levels since then but will usually only go 6-8 levels or less before it turns around for a TP. Live trading for 5 weeks- + $150.00. Been getting out on thursday mornings so I've given up some potential money. Also closed down one (10) level trade on a retrace with a small $3 profit which would have later netted me over $70. Slow but steady. IBFX is giving me absolutely no problems with slippage or requotes trading the EUR/USD exclusively.

I've set the EA to trade at .05 lot, but i see some trades have lot size of .06, .1, .45, etc. I just want to know why is that?

Charvo, thanks for the advice.

This week I'm dropping chf/jpy and only trading the 4 majors, the history of this ea is that it wins +85% of the time on the first two steps so this week I'm only playing 2 steps. My loss will be -202 and hopefully the wins will far exceed the losses. I'm also only playing the Asian, Europe sessions. Gotta find out how the ea closes all the trades for the American open? It probably will not open any trades but will let the trades in action continue?

I still have problems with the amount of money you can lose with this ea. With the 3 step approach I lost twice (chf) today for around -1000. In all fairness if this were a live account I would not be trading interest rate news, NFP and no Fridays, and would not let 1000 profit go to 100. Pretty much what Bob has been saying all along. I will be following his advice closer this week.

Again news week is quiet. Bank of Canada has interest rate coming up Tuesday. I dont really know if they would affect the markets that much even if they made a change. I plan on running the EA through the week. Good luck.

I have a program given to me that only enters if the pip spread is a certain amount. For example if it triggers a trade on the EUR/USD but the spread is greater than 2 it wont enter the trade until it is a 2 spread. If however the trade is now less than the trigger will it still enter? I still want the trade to trigger because it was set off but we are going to wait until the spread is at 2. Can we program the EA to do that.

In other words lets say we want the trade to enter 100 points above/below a MA line. The trade is triggered but the spread does not go back to 2 until it is 95 above/below the MA line. Can we still get the EA to trigger the trade at that point? I dont know but I was wondering if it makes a difference?? Any programmers know??

I will be trading using the following modification this week....

EURUSD & USDJPY

TP=100
SL=500
MA=55
PIPS=150
TF=15M
Levels=3
Multiplier=2

Will post my results on Friday.
