Hello rorieu - this Period Convertor will let you have 10min charts on mt4. I copy instructions I have below:

For 10min chart:
* download to custom indicator folder
* open the 5min chart on mt4
* In custom folder click/drag on Period Convertor onto 5min chart
* Click on the Inputs tab
* check that the Period Multiplier box has the number 2 there
* on the Period Converter common tab tick the box to allow DLL imports
* click ok
* go to File on mt4
* click on 'Open Offline'
* look down the list of available charts and double click on the 10min chart

In order for the 10minute chart to work live you must always have the 5 minute chart running as this is the time frame it is linked to.

As above to make any chart time frame i.e for a 45min chart you would open a 15min and set period multiplier to 3.

interesting to hear from someone using other timeframes than the default ones. I always wondered if anyone does that. Is anyone else using a non-standard timeframe and is successful with it?

Hi driftwood,

Amazing! I didn't think it would be possible to run MT4 on other timeframes.
I wasn't convinced that it was real time at first but I've checked it over 24 hours and I am convinced.

Hi.

I like the EMA cross system but there's one thing that I find very strange: If Fibonacci sequence is a very well known and used sequence why everybody uses 5/12 EMA instead of 5/13 EMA or is just the same?

Thank you for sharing your trading method with us. I have been backtesting it for some time now and have used it for trading decisions and it seems to work quite well. I am interested to find out your success rate and the accuracy of this trading system. Also, how did you arrive at the decision to use RSI 21. Thank you and happy trading.

I'm happy enough. But very poor lately. IMO it's a marathon not a sprint and earlier the account grew significantly. It's all in the thread with detail in my signature statement. It's only play money. Would you ditch such a system Sopier? After 2 months and back to break even?

Been working alot. I basically trade off the weekly and dailies. When I do get home from work, I check the hourlies and if there is a good looking trade setup with this system, I take it.

Im testing this system on yen pairs exclusively as they are the most trending pairs available, and have an obvious fundamental Long bias. If one were to backtest this system, taking Long only signals on gbp/jpy , euro/jpy and aud/jpy there is a greatly consistent profit made. I trade only 1H charts.

Hi Bago, yes the method is doing just fine, another good week and topped off by 2 good trades today on cable (Friday 13th ???). The only other two pairs I monitor are UJ & EU and they have seen some good action this week too especially UJ.

Efextrader, I noticed UJ wasn't one of the jpy pairs you featured, did it not perform well in your backtest?

Yes, I dont use Usd/jpy for the simple reason it doesnt have a pure Yen carry trade tendency..but is influenced equally by USD fluctuations..which can be dramatic and opposite the Yen carry trade direction of the moment.

Hi Bago,

I dont know why but I find your previous method more effective. I tried using both this week the new one and the first system.
The first one is simple and very effective. I think because the new system has so many indicators on it. This is just my experience for this week. The RSI seems to work fine.
What do other guys here think.
