How big an account one needs to win in forex everyday?

Is 20,000 enough? Lets base answers on one lot only.

First of all, the answer depends on your definition of "win".

Second, it's unrealistic to expect to "win" every single trading day. Your interest should be winning in the long run.

I suspect your real question is how much it takes to make a living trading full time.

1 std lot is $10 per pip. 2% risk of $20,000 is $400. That's 40 pips risk per trade. The question isn't whether someone can limit trade risk to that, the question is whether YOU (and your method) can do so.

Yes, you can win every single day with $20,000 deposit. I think it is more than enough.
But you must assume the $20,000 is already vanish at the moment you deposit it.

If you can accept above, I got a potential system but at this moment I dont have $20,000 at my own

My advice is don't open a live account until you know the answer, and have been profitable on demo for about 3-4 months consecutive. That is, unless you like to give your hard earned money to those that know how to trade.

You cant do much with 20k Yen...

It's not size of you account that win, it's you ,through education and practice that can make your account to be a winner.
The market have no idea of your account size when you have already entered a position ,and 1 billion dollars is not immune when price start to drop against it. It up for the trader to decide the entry and the exit. your account and the market have no idea of your intention.

I think its a question of risk reward issue. If I am only willing to risk 3% of say a 10k account, that is a 30pips stoploss on a standard lot, 300pips stoploss on a minilot and a 3000pips stoploss on a microlot. I would love to play with a 3000pips stoploss, I think I am going to win every single trade that I put with these.

However, it is also a question of how much return can I generate at the end of the month. If it is to be a monthly return of 20% on a 10k account, then I need to win just 200pips on a standard lot, but 2000pips on a minilot and an astounding 20k pips on a microlot.

Just 20%? That's it? That only compounds $10k to $7 million in 3 years. Surely you were thinking of doing better than that right?

Lol ..KGB. I was just trying to make a point. But hey, I wish I hav a 10k acc and have a monthly return of 20% a month, thats in my country is equivalent to $7,400.00 and I can live handsomely with that.

They have been averaging a return of 10% per annum for the last 20 years.
I guess that is not bad for a billion dollar fund account

20K will do it but you wont be able to draw for a while --- $50 K is a very decent amount to live on nicely AND continue trading !

the more experienced, the less you will actually need, but $50K is a good place to be to be able to trade in a pro manner while withdrawing equity, as it allows you to increase equity faster than most should be drawing.

as an aside, they have "averaged" 10% per year for RETAIL CLIENTS --- their expenses alone would keep the average third world country running for a few years, and thats not what their "accounting processes" hide from the RETAIL clients either.

ANY company that does this seriously should hide their heads in shame if they cant break 100% and one shouldnt even shake their hands if they dont produce 200%

allow me to disagree completely ---- the bigger the fund, the more they want and NEED to produce to keep the doors open. I've run a very profitable fund for many years now, and while i may not be famous or up there with the rothchilds, we do phenominally for a nice, stable and small company with a very exclusive clientele, so i have SOME ideas of what i speak !

their liquidity is as good as anything, given the amounts they move around as there is simply NO comparison between institutional and retail traders, even those with million dollar accounts.

now I may "startle" you with my "ignorance" but i find it amazing how much an ignorant man, with "ignorant" assistants can produce in a day of ABSOLUTE IGNORANCE !

the problem is testosterone levels --- those with a lot and little thinking or experience see it as a zero sum game, while those who lack the desire to go to war and simply MAKE money, see it as a "game" where there can be MULTIPLE winners.

at your young age, one would expect NO LESS than a massive ego and high testosterone levels, and at my age those days fade into a lifetime of wonderful memories, although the McGivers present more than ample opportunity for me to enjoy my "doddering old age" presently --- so we must disagree as there is simply NO choice in this situation. Unfortunately, the young always underestimate the older, which is normal and laughed at constantly by the more experienced and so i shall take your insults, lay them on the ground and like the more famous "dutch uncles" of times past, tousle your hair and tell you it will all be OK -- youll understand in just 40 or so years !
